Quoth, I got the replacement power supply this morning.
I'm having a carnival in my room now.

Well, I'm not actually with the birds at the moment, I'm
upstairs and they are downstairs probably talking about
Patrick Swayze and Aqua Aerobics.

That mixer is great! It's fun fannying around with the
delay so it sounds like you are choping two records up.

I should send you one of my loop cd's I made for that. A
100 or so little bits that work like a locked groove thing
but with the DJM you can play for ages.

This thread softened my stubburn heart. I am reminded of
going to various music stores around here and fiddling with
such machines. I haven't done that in years.

Maybe i should again tomorrow. I feel like i am missing out
on all the fun

I might as well show mine as well.

The kaos pad is hidden under the patchbay, as is the mixer.

Next things to go in the rack: Quadraverb GT (in the post),
Nord Modular 2 rack (on order)

I am also about to get a Korg Poly800, but that won't be for
a couple weeks.

(although half of that reason is I work outside, so the last
thing I want to be doing on my time off is being outside)

I know what you mean. I have noticed that when people work
in an office, they go outside at lunchtime. When I worked
outdoors, everyone congregated in a little hut at
lunchtime!

:)

My setup is still awaiting another table to get it all set
up as I want. I'll post pictures once it's sorted.

2 megs 12 bit? I think thats about 30 seconds or so for a
mono file. I heard somewhere that it gives you 8 seconds,
but I can't be certain. Don't know how their processor saves
samples...

so how are you finding the machinedrum? i'd love one but
1000quid is a bit too much for me at the moment.... thats
what i get for actually paying over 1000 for ableton, reaktor
max etc etc.......bah.

www.elektron.se <-- order it straight from the company

this is the only way besides ebay and knowing a person that
has one.

i think the MachineDrum is great

granted, the stuff that it can do you can probably
completely do using software, but fact of the matter is
that

1) It's all self contained
2) Perfect for a live situation
3) Is really for people like me who prefer to feel something
rather than clicking a mouse all over the place
4) It supposedly has a very solid MIDI timing clock - i
don't know if this is true or not, but that's what the
documentation says - i've just been using this is a drum
machine, not using it as a master clock source

speaking on the midi clock... and overall midi time... the
machine drum is what you want to use for the "Master"
setting the SPS-1 up for this purpose gives you outstanding
control over all other machines you link into it. i've just
now unlocked the midi clock on the machine and i can't hear
anything better to run my machines to than the sps-1... even
my powerbook g4 with MOTU MIDI 8X8 brain can't even match up
the bpms like this little mother fucker.

it is superb.
