can't think a lot of it... i haven't heard any of these
records.

i know several of these bands though; i don't like
Cocorosie, i'm not really sure about Broadcast (i like
"Pendulum" but the rest failed to catch me), i like
Biosphere, not sure about Supersilent, i think i kind of
like Prefuse 73, i like what i know from The Black Dog
('Bytes'), i like what i know from Jackson, Animal
Collective failed to impress me, i've heard enough by
Autechre, not too sure about Devendra Banhart nor about Four
Tet, i've heard enough by Boards of Canada.

there were more releases than anyone has time to listen to.
so i award best album to james brown, for "sex machine."

I'm glad I'm not alone in not knowing all of the records -
although, as someone said, I know most of the bands. But I
always like a list like this - it somehow allows for that
end of year nostalgia frenzy before January arrives. I
looked at Wire magazine's as well - and that really was
obscure. Or maybe I just need to buy more music.

i think i have bought not more than 10 albums of the
2005...
(not counting analords...

no, it came out in 1970. but i'm sticking to my guns, it's
still the best record that came out in 2005.

actually, most of the records i bought this year didn't come
out in 2005.

so here's another awesome release for 2005 that didn't come
out in 2005: "music for nitrous oxide," by stars of the
lid.

i really think that boc are on floating by on good will and
not much else. if "campfire headphase" was their first
album it would have sunk like a stone. i'm not saying it's
a bad record, just good at best. and now i'd like to
apolologize for opening that redundant can of worms.

It's a redundant can of worms becuase it isn't their first
album. Poor BOC, everyone wants MHTRTC pt. II though at the
same time for them to COMPLETELY CHANGE AND EVOLVE whilst
retaining TEH CRUNCHY BEATS.

i just wanted a better album. not that it makes any
difference, because there's no shortage of good music.

I still think it's a good album. I think the fact it wrong
footed people's expectations (is that possible) has more to
do with people's reaction than the actual music. I think
it'll be a grower. I DO.

i've not seen a good list yet, but i should caveat that
statement by saying that i'm not capable of a good list at
this point either.

i don't want MHTRTC pt. II. i was listening to Campfire this
morning and was wandering - why such a simple, peaceful
album ? guitars ?? well....perhaps they needed some rest.
just some REST after geogaddi. rest from all those idm
enthusiast expecting something idm BIG. or bigger.

Coil- The Ape of Naples, for me. I no longer fear death, but
on the other hand I feel better about not being dead.
Honorable mention to Untilted, Desormais- Dead Letters to
Lost Friends, a few other ones.

I've rarely been so sure about anything though, Coil put out
my favorite album of the year.

Clearly, you have the real #19 marked as #20, and the real
#20 marked as #19. Im going to let that slide as an honest
mistake, and not give you to my cabbin boy as a christmas
present.
