podcast - i hate to use the buzzword, but the concept is quite worthwhile. the idea, if you're not familiar with it, is you can subscribe to different podcast "feeds" with a program such as itunes. when the service you're subscribed to releases a new mp3 (such as a weekly radio show or whatever), your program will go and automatically suck down that mp3 and make it available, move it to your portable device, etc, all by itself. great idea, if any of you own a portable device there's often the case of 'what the hell do i want to listen to', and having a no/little-effort way to have new content always on there is fantastic. xltronic definitely has great content (the radio shows, xltronic vibes, etc). i miss a lot of it because i don't see links, i miss posts on the latest vibes release, or have to go manually download it. a podcast would rule, especially when i'm not always checking the forum. anybody else interested in this? |

(oh, and if this is part of v2, sorry! i'd love to see something now though, and writing something to generate the relevant rss/xml is a reasonably simple thing to do.) |

well, i'm not using podcasts that much myself...... yet! xltronic v2 will have podcasts. i will post more info later on. |

no... it would give visitors the oppurtunity of choosing WHAT channels to subscribe to. perhaps a few members only wants to get notified when new liveshows and vibes are made available, but not everytime a member uploads a track.... it's pretty logical. there will also be separate feeds for news/discography/messageboard...... that's how rss feeds usually are set up like.... the system will be fully automatic so no hassle for me. |
