Hey, does anyone know what the little voice is saying in
the track 'Milh'? I find that track extremely depressing.

Great album by the way.

Yeah, I think they made it that way purposly, all I can make
out is something about "exactly as it was before except this
time I will not allow..."

musicians swimming in a smal pool therefore apprearing
bigger than we actually are".

This album better be fucking awesome the way you guys are

Don't buy it, you'll regret it. It's shit and has no melody

i . . . think he means better.

i personally find their music to be fun yet bland. however,
they have enough beautiful tracks to put out a 'best of'
compilation.

labium: why don't you check out the discography and listen
to the samples before you decide whether to buy a specific
release or not?

xltronic discography

my personal opinion on plaid & black dog: i love all their
stuff. it's all about taste..... eg. skip all the reviews
and opinions out there and do yourself a favour and explore
the music on your own.

offline Ezkerraldean from the lowest common denominator (United Kingdom) on 2005-12-11 08:23 [#01798250]

most plaid is good - plaid and black dog are basically the
same - ed and andy (plaid) were with one other guy in the
black dog.

not really... the black dog music has changed quite a lot
since ed/andy left... check out their latest album, you
can't even associate it with a plaid at all - and why would
you?

the dust brothers have really contributed a lot to the new
tbd sound... aerial and atmospheric.

you can draw some parallells between old tbd and early plaid
... even tho ken downie's distinct "oriental" sound is quiet
noticable.

bound to see a lot of opinions popping up.

as soon as you post on a messageboard, you'll get a shitload
of opinions thrown at you, surely when you post on one you
know this or learn quickly enough.

to me it seems kind of an obvious thing to say it's about
taste, that you should form your own opinion - if Labium
truly needs basic advice like that he's in a bad, bad
place.. :P

so if someone told you "no, that album is shit... don't
bother listen to it
"... you would actually follow that
advice - no matter what?

yeah, they have drifted apart obviously. downie (thats his
name, i remember!) does now have his own distinct sound.

i heard that they split after falling out and dont actualy
talk anymore, is it true?

Rest Proof Clockwork is really a good album in my opinion,
and that's also the first that I've listened to, released by
them. Try to listen this track, for example: "shackbu",
it's lovely.

I would recommend Dialp too, in this album there are lots of
interesting tracks mixed very well.

Thanks, I've actually owned Rest Proof Clockwork for a long
time... I was just wonder about the whole Black Dog thing,
I've actually thought about buying Bytes on many occasions,
but I always end up picking something else.

qrter - Yeah, I know the whole forum scheme, I dont really
need anyones opinion, just wanted some suggestions.

besides that? What Autechre and Aphex do you like? Name some
stuff you like and don't like to give me an idea of what
kind of opinion you've got.
