it was improvised with the computer mic. oh, and there's
mention of grinning ape as well. but mostly it's just "lush"
in several contexts. pretty lush.

"maybe he'd like some feedback," I thought, but if he wants
pure asskissing, I can do that too.

your awesome distortion techniques don't work when you want
to do a trance track

Asskissing! Yeah! Sounds good. I kind of agree with Staz,
and not just in this case but, in general. Robert Johnson
lets say, that sounds like it was recorded on ass master,
but it sounds awesome (I'm not saying anything about me or
anyone else in comparison to Robert Johnson)... tracks are
shit or they're not shit. You can't polish a
turd.

Says "The King of Trance" (good name for a dance act)

In 2 years when ALL records sound like this you'll be saying
"Sorry Dan, I just didn't get it, but now I
appreciate you as etc etc" and I'll ... just... stand
there... impassive.

Sorry, can a moderator delete the post where I say "Fuck
wisp" etc, as, because I think I am about to join the IDM
d-list, i may need some of those names to get me a leg up.

i think dog_belch just about covered it. i liked the tracks
and i don't really think technical tips fit the bill at all
times.

ok, then I will also add that that last song, fuck you.. I
love the idea with fading it in all the time! The same
reason I love the roots' "step into the realm" (though they
fade out)!

well, I just do what I'd like to have people tell me when I
spam.. thing is, I could never change the melodies or
drumpatterns or whatever on my spam (and I wasn't saying
doggy should do anything of the sort), but I change mix and
eq if people say it, 'cause it's so easy to fix and it
mostly ends up with me going "whoah! that's so much
better!"

it's like that one awesome song that giginger has made.. the
one with cut up piano.. nothing changed in the melodies or
anything, but he got some help with eq'ing and mixing it,
and it just sounds even more amazing after!

I don't know what EQ entails, to be fair, plus my speakers
are made out of cardboard. Maybe I can give it to you and
you can produce it for me?

ah. well, I don't have super amazing skills in it either..
as I said: I usually just use differrent samples with better
sound quality when people say the drums sound like ass or if
I notice it myself.. maybe you could get some tips from the
man who helped giginger out? I'm sure he's not far away...

also, I found this (pdf) to be kind of helpful
when I have to do stuff...

Music music music, it comes down to, I think, this. And this
isn't me just wriggling out of it, but I think "stuff like
this" presents some interesting.. issues.

Music. Music online. Music on a record. Music on a record, a
lot of the time, is compromised, i believe.

On the "innerweb" you can "release" what you like.

Yet a lot of the time people "release" their music on the
web that just sounds like it desperatly wants to really be
on a record. "Good" production, 6 minutes long, polite
changes etc.

It just sounds desperate to me.

I don't know.

this is getting out of hand or whatever.. I liked the
tracks, but I could finally actually give proper
feedback somewhere ("this is awesome!!!" isn't proper
feedback).

pollute the thread as well, with a random old track from
href="http://http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~oyvinto/mp3/Tommys_ba
those still accesible at my webspace target=blank>. i hope you hate it. fucking stupids. the
voice is how things soundtransfer over msn sounds like with
the echo indigo series sound drivers.

Being honest I didn't think it was very good. The distorted
synth is fucking horrible. I quite liked the beat though,
nice and warm, not enough to redeem the track as a whole.

yes, interesting point. Music on a record, a
lot of the time, is compromised, i believe.
- to a
certain degree, yes, i think it's true in my case.

i've just finished making a track. i enjoyed the creative
process very much. for an hour or so. then i rendered the
track to mp3. and listened to it. and it does not sound so
cool as when i was building the patterns one by one and
adding effects. so the creative process is sometimes more
enjoyable then the product.

the compromise...i just recently started sharing the tracks
i make right after i've made them, fresh products. some are
more or less in progress, some are shit sketches or
skeletons of tracks. i don't know if i ever release them.
but they're available. the latest one is here :
MP3\xltronic\elektrobi\in progress\*

My guess is that you are mastering with some mad bass
amplification somewhere because the frequency balance is way
off The synth literally destroys the rest of the track. By
destroys I mean engulfs, distorts and causes way too much
clipping. To by honest I found it hard to distinguish
anything out of the synth on regular headphones.

Points: 8197 Status: Lurker | Followup to vlari: #01797494 | Show recordbag

that is fucked up. i removed the form thing but they still
keep spamming. i have to remove the code and change access
thingy. yes. ok.

offline dog_belch from Netherlands, The on 2005-12-10 08:57 [#01797515]
Points: 15098 Status: Addict | Followup to ecnadniarb: #01797511 | Show recordbag

Ohh, i don't want clipping, but I do want it to "engulf" the
track, that's fine. Seriously my headphones cost $2 and my
pc speakers are made out of paper, so I've no real udea what
this sounds like at all.

My aim is to, you know, be like a cross between shoegazing
and heavy metal. I need a marshall stack.
