I have a PC for internet/word processing, and a Mac for making music. If I could go back in time I would have bought a PC for music instead of a Mac. the future is with PCs, there just arent enough developers out there supporting the Mac platform.

Macs are good for making films. I don't know about making music on them, but they have the best program for editing movies digitally. The program is called Final Cut Pro and I think it's only for mac. Not sure though.

radiohead make their music on macs too their supposed to be more powerful for audio/video stuff.. (and they certainly look REALLY good)
..and i have to admit max os X looks really cool to...
they're just so expensive! and the lack of compatibility would certainly be an issue...

I use a 233MHz iMac with 96MB and using Reason is (almost) no problem. Amazing really. I need a new machine to use OS X though. My Dad's got the latest PowerBook G4, that thing ROCKS!
But yes, you need the money... If you can afford it though, Once you go Mac you'll never go back.
