sorry for yet another topic about this. i guess there are
quite a few.

apparently, this movie was released in the US over a year
ago. Nevertheless, i didn't see it until tonight.

It was awkward, scary, paranoia inducing, disturbing, well
acted, and the ending didn't even suck.

Then, about the doctor dude. I was convinced that this actor
also stars in 'the butterfly effect' as one of kutcher's
fratboy friends, and later on as the religious geek, but i
could not find anything on imdb. Please help me out with
this.

Also, this reminded me to check out info on 'the butterfly
effect' and thus 'chaos theory' which is pretty rad! no?

The doctor dude? That was Cary Elwes, unless there was
another doctor.

i love how the second part of the film invades my city with
scary posters exclaming:
SAW II
:)

yes cary elwes, i found out that much.

i didnt find his name in the cast list of 'tbe' but i'm
almost positive he did have a part in that.

elusive: i also thought it was going to be 'decent' and i
was in for a good surprise.

i can so easily imagine how people love to diss this movie.
I also imagine they are the same type of people that say
'the blair witch project' isn't scary at all.

who gives a fuck danny glover is in it?

who gives a fuck the wife managed to get her hands untied,
when she should have just been handcuffed to whatever she
was attached to?

who gives a fuck the doctor dude was happy when he found the
'X' when he should've known it could only mean more bad
news?

this movie is good.

i did enjoy this film, particularly the traps, however it
was a bit annoying but i can't explain exactly why. that
Cary Elwes has an odd accent, that sounds really put on.

hello!

no, sorry, i haven't seen the butterfly effect. it has
ashton kutcher in it, is he representative of the quality of
this film?

you'd be surprised.

think brad pitt -fight club-

or

tom cruise -vanilla sky-

solid performance.

it's terrible. it really is. it's one of those Hollywood
films where you can almost literally see on screen how the
scriptwriters are losing control over the script and are
trying everything to get back that control, feverishly
making it up as they go along, the most ridiculous things
happening one after another.

oh, hi alex. how nice of you to stop by.

'its hollywood, so naturally it sucks'

the idea on which the script is based is very interesting to
say the least. try imagination?

while you're at it, why not spill your guts over 'saw' as
well?

what I don't get is why when I give a negative opinion about
a film you like you then decide to take it personally, as if
I were saying you are that film and therefore, in my
opinion, badly written.

are you really that insecure?

I thought that this movie was completely great. Especially
considering all the absolute garbage that infiltrates
american media forms.

I was loving part 1. Part 2 was a bit more unique. I
encourage you to see it. The jigsaw character is easy to
like overall. He is indepth in thought.

you're absolutely right. i had a beer too many when i made
this thread which should have read 'saw: i liked this movie'
and not much else.

i was 'upset' that you had to piss over that other film,
which i had just recommended to jack. Then, as though to
protect him from something horrible, you jump into the
thread with only negative comments.

'it's terrible, it really is'

ah, ok.

brian: hard to imagine that part 2 could be as good. but
they're getting a lot better at sequels these days i guess.
It'll probably be a while before it arrives here, sadly..

No, and no. Well acted? Lol. Dude watch the last 5
minutes again and feel ashamed. It's super gay, just look.

I think the producer of Saw and its sequel just died.

i'd have to agree that wasn't a highlight of the film (the
acting). The ending was totally OK imo.

It'd be funny if the producer was killed by some overzealous
murderer much like the one in the movie. He'd be like "I'll
teach you to not corrupt the world by portraying violent
death.. by killing you violently."

From what I read, he reported having neck pains. Then he
died shortly there after. He was 42.

Could be spinal meningitus or some shit.

the only place 2 disappointed was the ending. Otherwise it
works pretty well by staying pretty original with what
jigsaw does and goes more in depth on his character.

hollywood scriptwriters are paid to change good scripts into
bad scripts, unfortunately.

I really don't understand why people liked Saw so much. It
started off interesting, but fell into tired flashbacks and
a reliance on twist that's worthy of M. Night Shamyalan.
