I just stumbled across the riff to satellite anthem icurus
as i was jamming.

Has anyone else got anything figured?

thats exactly my main grip with the album. sure the sound is
great, and its boc, but they write really lame guitar lines
i was writing in high school.

the main riff for dayvan cowboy? god, reeks of cheese so
bad!

It's not what you do, it's how you do it.

How come you haven't got the deal and the amount of respect
then? There is something about the tunes that makes it sit
perfectly.

because theyre better musicians, just trite guitar players.

Hmmm, i think that all of the new stuff with guitar on
really works for me. I didn't find it trite at all. I am
still confused as to why you think it is trite. I think
people playing a load of technical nonsense is trite.

the guitars in the new boc are rancid. the entire album is
the most depressingly inoffensive thing i've ever heard.

but oscar see through red eye is a nice track.

All down to taste really. I enjoy it so i don't care really.

its not for lack of overall technicality, its just that ive
heard the same guitar lines for years before.

id would have figured with their inate ability to write
awesome melodies, boc could also write some inspirational
guitar riffs, but unfortunately, this is not so.

seriously, i could see most of the riffs right at home on a
stain'd record or something.

Hmm, well that's given me food for thought. i don't think
that's particularly true. If you take alot of songs down to
just simple guitar chords, they are always inately similar
patterns. So forgive me for not sharing your opinion.

while the record has grown on me, i have to agree with the
assessment that the guitar parts sound predictable,
uninspired, generic, obvious, overused, unimaginitive. the
tracks that rely on the guitars seem to be the least
effective. i don't think pointing this out means that i'd
prefer some over the top cock rock solos or proggy noodling.
i'm not picking an argument with anyone in particular that
likes the guitar parts, just adding my two cents.

I could also argue that familiarity is part of boc's
trademark (if you will.)

Dosen't matter.
