Unreleased AFX stuff

I figure this might've been asked already, but I don't see
an answer in the 5min I spent looking for it myself.
Can anyone make more than a guess as to whether his
unreleased stuff will be made public, as a sort of legacy
catalogue of albums or whatever, by his family or whoever?
Or is he likely to make arrangements for his stuff not to
get "ripped off" as he put it, even once he's dead?

Now, I'm getting seriously anxious. It's the second
suggestion of assassination in order to get music in 24hrs.

I remember pigster had started a thread exactly like this
one, also, in that thread the people had posted lots of good
and unreleased stuff by Richard.

he has stuff way better than anything you've heard from him
yet, his best stuff makes drukqs look like smojphace. Once
all the 3rd world countries get internet and the system
becomes over loaded and no-one can d/l anymore, rdj will
release his best works.

for someone who is so musically admired the man is the
biggest twat on the planet really isnt he. I mean it really
does appear he releases for cash not because he actually
enjoys music. hes sat there laughing at us all as we praise
the latest fart he records. dont get me wrong i do it aswell
but man he is a dick lets all admit it

If he only released records for the profit I doubt he would
have released a series of 11 vinyl-only 12"s.

Just because he releases music for cash doesn't mean he
doesn't enjoy music. He makes the music for enjoyment.
Releases it for cash.

going to go off in the houses of the biggest fanboys.

"see its impossible for people to think bad of him bloody
FAN BOYS!!! "

Of course it's possible. You could talk about the tracks of
his you think are shit. You can talk about how badly he
looks in pictures, how silly he comes across in
interviews... the list goes on.

oh cmon, he (L)s music, he's been making it since he was 14
and he has released heaps of great and innovative stuff. You
couldn't make what he makes without enoying it because if
you didnt enjoy it you wouldnt spend the countless hours
he's spent making it.

prolly from the vault ;) hes actually dead allready he died
years ago like 2pac and now they are both releasing tunes
from beyond the grave

he probaly does have some awesome stuff unreleased, but hes
talking it up just so people (... us) talk about it and want
it badly.
then he releases poo like analord and buys another tank or
something.
he'll release something new and everyone will be like 'ahh
this is the awesome stuff!!!' and then a month later in an
interview he starts CRAPPING on about his awesome stuff
again. like hes been talking about his awesome unreleased
stuff since before drukqs and hes still on about it

Ild say hes making music right now, something that will blow
us all away in 2012. Just like how he had Drukqs in mind
when he made Hangable Auo Bulb 7 years earlier.

If we're talking about MFM, AB5, etc. I doubt RDJ will
bother to dig out and release 10 year old tapes that he
thought were unfit for release in the first place.

RDJ has only ever released 26 Mixes for Cash and at least he
had the face to admit it... and we bought it and yes he
deserves the fucking money cos he's the only bona-fide

Funny how people make assumptions about people they don't
even know, it's like the exaggerated reports of artists must
be 100% accurate or something. Mariah Carey is human,
everyone can be a dick, it's probably difficult for artists
not to get too rapped up in it all anyway..

The only unreleased that I can think of is

Analogue Bubblebath 5
Melodies from Mars
The Caustic Window Album
Q-Chastic

But then, that's the unreleased we know of.

All this unreleased stuff he goes on about is a load of
bollocks, blatantly so.

Why would you hang onto the good stuff, only releasing
mediocre stuff like a lot of the analord material?

He can keep melodies from mars, it's shit. But he did admit
that.

I want good releases from rdj, not mediocre rubbish.

In fact forget that, I just want something new and exciting,
from any artist.

I feel things are stagnating, not moving forwards at all.
The new BOC album was great (i think so, anyway), Untilted
was great.

But I want an album that really excites me, something to
feel passionate about.

Like I did when RichardDJames LP was released.

He should release all the Analogue Bubblebaths in a boxed

I'm very pleased he allowed the repressing of Hangable Auto
Bulb, but now he has done that the vultures (like myself)
are hungry for more. To have a repressing of AB5 on CD or
something would be lovely; I really adore this release,
however it's a gem to Rephlex so it's not that likely in the
near future. The Caustic Window album seems to have been a
gift to his friends, so again like sort of cheapening that
(?) with a full run seems unlikely. I'm going to concede
that I have pretty much all his known catalogue now and be
happy with it, I look forward to his next release. It is a
shame he isn't as prolific as Mr Funk. I'd be careful what
you say about the man here too; it's impossible to know what
he is thinking so air on the side of caution. If you seem
ungrateful will he have any incentive to put more shizzle
out? Maybe he feels guilty making so much money and that's
why he is so shy on putting releases out, you just don't
know.

I forgot I had WAP 195 so I'm enjoying that now. Analord has
a lot of tracks on I wanted yet people are still slating
that.

i agree with you 100% lets hope the analord sales show how
hungry we are.. rdjs releases have always been more than
enough value for the money, i think he should know that.. i
mean he could have sold those anal 10's for 300 bob if he
was a tit (and people would still pay).

I agree that when people become popular it goes to their
heads, intense egotism, I've seen it many times over and
it's terrible. However he isn't really showing signs of
that, occasional playfulness to get our hearts racing at
best. Talking about the poor man dying, even raiding his
home isn't very nice even if a joke. I'm not trying to make
you feel guilty or be overly serious just see it from my
perspective however. Imagine reading that about your life
and your home. Surely if you want loads of his material you
want him to have a long life so even when 80 years old,
still with that grin, permanently hooked up to his synths
and a PC he keeps putting tunes out. That's better then him
passing away now and getting a repressing of two
ten-year-old albums. Perhaps I'm pointing out the obvious
now tho.

Dagger Happy knows the score. It seems that most musicians
have a buffer of a few years on their music. That’s just
good sense. He was DJing 'Where's your girlfriend?' for
years before we managed to get a copy. Bogdan Raczynski was
over the moon about working with Bjork, he said that it
would never see the light of day, however now we are given
that opportunity. I think Aphex, Bogdan and especially Mad
Dog are spot on guys, I'd much rather they had my money then
some of the blatantly misanthropic artists you buy album
after album from.

Aphex Twin can lucid dream, when you have achieved that I
can tell you that nothing else matters. These people don't
seem to like material goods so balancing those beliefs with
demand, record companies visions of the product, as well as
criticism is difficult.

Anyway, I know you're not going to take this as gospel, just
have a peek thru my eyes and move on.

when i was 8 i could lucid dream at will, but i used it to

Well, as much as I liked a lot of the Analord stuff, some of
it could have been so much better.
I don't expect every release to be groundbreaking, but going
by previous releases sometracks included were poor in
comparision, don't you think.

Not poor in the same sense as smojphace was. At least it was
listenable.

But if (like RDJ claims) he has so many great tracks lying
around, why release so many analords? Why not 6 analords
that would have blown people away, instead of 12 that
overall don't cut it?

Obviously this is my opinion, I don't expect people to agree
with me on this one.

oops, I mean 11 analords, sorry!

But I really think some analords were poor, especially 9 and
11.
