"that shouldn't be a problem.... but remind me later on :)"

.... was a follow-up to his hotlink request.

Nice one. I'm sure I'll forget until you've gone and
implemented the damn thing.

coolio. sounds ace. the new server sounds ideal too. nice
one for doing it i say, its a lot of work? i really look
forward to seeing it, and if u need any beta testers or any
other help then let me know, i know a bit about validation
and css and that.. :D

the new server + the new optimized code should do just
fine.

thanks for your offer btw, we haven't ran into any problems
as yet - and yes it's a lot of work and money behind all
this... i'm so fascinated by all the "new" web-techniques
(xml/rss/css/xhtml/etc), so i can't help but experimenting a
lot :)

xlt v2 will be available for premium members a month ahead
of regular members tho.

Welcome to the year 2000! :)

Glad to see you're looking into those things... should make
XLT even better than it already is.

Erm, no... you're still using the FONT tag, which is
depreciated in XHTML, and you have inline non-CSS color
declarations... I would suggest reading up on what "pure"
XHTML/CSS means. Not to start an argument or anything, just
pointing out a fact.

I suggest you take a look at the sourcecode of the WATMM
frontpage if you want to see a pure XHTML/CSS layout. i've
found it makes maintaining code a lot easier than old
table-based layouts and inline styles. I've also found it
has cut down bandwidth usage quite a bit (since the CSS gets
cached by the browser and doesn't make repeated requests for
graphics, etc.)

Either way, it's good to see progress in the right
direction!

i guess you misread my message, joyrex...... i wrote: "has
had css on xlt v2 for the last 1,5 years"...... which
means the next version of this site, still not official.....
the development team took the css/xhtml path 18 months
ago....

i know the current site (xlt v1) is not even remotely close
to xhtml/css standards, because it was developed 4 years
ago.

Erm, it's XHTML and CSS compliant too, even if I didn't code
it myself...

Ah, I was a bit confused about that - I didn't know if
adding things to the messageboard made it "V2" or what...
sorry.

Well, hopefully it won't launch with CSS/XHTML that's 1.5
years old - stuff has changed A LOT since then...
