Skam and Autechre, relation?

Okay, I'm sure everyone has heard/read things that credit
one or both of the members of Autechre, usually Sean Booth,
with creating, co-creating, or managing Skam records. I've
heard it for years. When I first heard it, I sorta figured
it might be true because I had no information to tell me
otherwise, but I've never really gotten any evidence that
actually supports this since. Yet people still say stuff
referring to them as the owners of Skam. Sure, I know
Gescom has released several things on Skam, but even the
exact identity of Gescom hasn't been disclosed.

The Sean Booth owning Skam records story sounds shifty to
me; like something people say because they'd love for it to
be true. Kind of like 'Aphex Twin has built his own
synthesizers since he was a kid' or 'Boards of Canada are
Satanists..' Little myths that may be based slightly
in reality but fucked up over the course of many rounds of
internet posting. After enough repetition, people start to
believe it. They just sound so cool that people accept
them, me included.

So is this one of those? Did Gescom's involvement with Skam
somehow get rearranged over time into 'Autechre creating
Skam,' or is it really true?

I'm Actually Pretty Sure Not. But then again I guess I've
never read explicitly who 'owns' Skam records.

Andy Maddocks runs Skam I think but Sean is heavily involved
and sort of has a hand in what goes on.

I think you all are right. This age-old Autechre
FAQ doesn't say they were the creators either. I
guess it must just be these little blurbs that individual
websites hastily write up without checking enough facts.
There's no really credible source that ever said it.

Thanks.

The Skam/Autechre relation:

$linea = ; chop $linea; ($Mandato, $Op1, $Op2, $Op3, $Op4) =
split($linea, ':');

No. Both my real life gradma's are dead so I was just
trying to forge a friendship with an internet one :(

I actually originally wrote:

Grandma is great because they have a more than 50% chance of
being someone from Skam.

But deleted it for something more subtle.

oh, the FAQ? yeah, I remember reading it a few years ago..
interesting to look over it again.

ps. I'm very confused about all this grandma talk. although,
as I mentioned in another thread, the avatar is fantastic.

Maybe we should rename this thread grandma and tridenti, relation?
