yeah, ipod video

and the new G5 imac has a built in isight video cam, and it
has a remote control, that allows you to control music,
videos, photos, and dvds. it makes the entire screen a huge
menu, so its like watching a dvd or something.

also, you can now dl tv shows from itunes 6.

let the apple loving and apple hating begin... now.

I will always hate apple and their products, even though I
own an ipod.

Didn't like how they moved the inputs on the back to allign
horisontally, and bulging on the backpanel wasn't all that
good looking either. Would love to have the remote though...

I'd like some power mac updates too Apple. Pleeease?

Yeah the new iPod and video downloads are a step in the
right direction, think I'll wait one more generation to
retire my 3rd generation iPod. Hopefully they'll have 80
gigers by then.

I think people who buy iPods are amongst the biggest chumps
on earth - the white earphone leads are ubiquitous like
cattle branding. On their Apple store online, it costs £179
for a FOUR gig mp3 player... I paid £150 for a THIRTY gig
mp3 player from Creative... not only that, but if you ever
have a problem with a Creative product, their support team
are good - my brother had a problem, sent his mp3 player to
them and they sent him a new one just like that, as Tommy
Cooper might say. I myself have never had a problem with my
mp3 player - it can store data, & you can play your own
playlists or play random tracks and fits in my pocket
nicely.

slipped into some futuristic world..

Yeah I spotted those on the Apple website... they just seem
to have become obsessed with style and slickness.

I have never seen so many people actively making an effort
to display their iPods, from the shitty white earbuds to
holding it in their hands everywhere they go.

i'm still lunking around my 1st gen ipod, and the only time
i use the earbuds is when i'm riding my bike with a helmet
somewhat obscuring them. i don't give two toots about the
style, i honestly enjoy apple products, and even a 5 gig
ipod holds a great amount of tunes and works great as an
external harddrive.

this new ipod video thing is something my girlfriend had
thought was the future of the ipod since the photo came out.
it's so obvious! i don't really have much use for it
though, but a new ipod may be in my near future. maybe a
fourth gen, just to get some more storage space and longer
battery life.

i threw those ugly white things out straight away. anyway,
why would you want to watch a video on your eyepod. the
damn thing drives me crazy with photos, i will try to look
through mine and the fucking backlight goes out. it's
bullshit, i don't want to reset it just to scroll through
some god damn photos.

"I´m so hip & cool"-iPods... I mean what´s next - an real

Music Videos cost $1.99. 2 bucks for 3-4 minutes of
visuals? At that rate a two hour movie should cost $60-80.

All those of reducing the price of a video say I!

Music videos should be free from iTunes, because basicly
they are just advertisements.

yeah, I agree. Maybe if they were High Def and fullscreen
then 2$ would be a good price. But they are basically a few
inches across your screen currently.

iPod video is just stupid.

Why is the screen more or less the same size? That's fucked
up.

They should turn the ipod on its side and use a wider screen
like the PSP. But then what would happen to the wonderful
click wheel of theirs? Maybe it could be moved to a
dangling remote.

i reckon i'll get me one of those new imac's, once Christmas
is out of the way. My powerbook is starting to get a bit
long in the tooth.

Fuck the ipod though. Why do i want to watch a music video
anyway?
Well, maybe the new sugababe's video i would ;)

i think you guys are failing to disconnect a product /
company from the deuche bags who buy their products

if i didnt buy things cause people wore armbands, or white
headphones, or put ryan adams on it - i wouldnt own
anything

fuck people, hard

i like my ipod...yeah its not perfect, but what is? - i also
love my ibm thinkpad and think it makes i / power books look
as silly and art-faggy as they are

just my opinion

My iPod works great, backs up my files, and has the quickest
interface of the mp3 players I've used. It is very easy to
zip around to hear what you want.

You must have overlooked the point I made about Apple
charging ridiculous prices ... £179 for four gigs as
opposed to £150 for thirty gigs... nice.

"some" money? If we use £179 as the price for 4 gigs, then
it would come out as £1342 for 30 gigs.

yeah, except its not like that. You're talking solely about
the mini, (which I think is silly as well) but you seem to
forget there is 20-40 gig models as well. While yes, still
somewhat more expensive then what youre comparing it to, not
THAT far off.

I'd like to know WHY they are 'somewhat' more expensive.
Didn't they have to introduce the Shuffle because their
iPods didn't have a 'random' feature, and that the Shuffle
could ONLY be played in Random mode?

I also hate the way that the generic term for mp3 player
seems to be 'iPod' ... even on the BBC they say iPod instead
of mp3 player. Sucks.

"I'd like to know WHY they are 'somewhat' more expensive."
I guess they have the popularity to do so. It obviously
sells, and people pay that price, so I guess it'd be foolish
on their part to not get as much as they could.

"Didn't they have to introduce the Shuffle because their
iPods didn't have a 'random' feature, and that the Shuffle
could ONLY be played in Random mode?"

The older models didnt have a random feature, but an OS
update fixed that. Also, the shuffle has the option of being
played in either random or ordered (you must set the order
on your comp, as there is no display)

"I also hate the way that the generic term for mp3 player
seems to be 'iPod' ... even on the BBC they say iPod instead

of mp3 player. Sucks"
that is stupid. bad journalism.

You would have thought they would learn from the Marge
Simpson/Chanel suit episode...

By positioning themselves as a manufacturer of luxury
fashion items they will suffer long term when the kids no
longer find them cool.
