ive only been old enough to attend 3 ae shows ever, two of which were this year. neither had encores, while i think thats okay (this years shows had the best ending i could ask for. seizure-inducing shit) , both times people cheered on for encores and didnt get any, and you could sort of hear the dissapointment in some.
if youve been to AE concerts of past, have you seen them do encores?
i remember getting pissed off at sqrpshers 2004 show when he encored Come on my Selector after the crowd begged for him to come back, he was playing it out on his bass but nobody knew what the fuck it was. like, me and this other guy instantly looked at eachother like OH MY FUCKING GOD YES but nobody knew what it was. like, 'oh just another song'

Wait wait wait, how can someone go to a squarepusher concert and not know Come on my Selector?
As for AE doing encores. I dont' know. I would assume they don't as it seems their set has a pretty set structure and they kind of "riff" around that on the night.

your love for autechre burns brightly, like a thousand pixellated suns.
it is also a bit scary, like a thousand Monoids a-lunging.

all the ae sets ive heard they play there 45 minutes to 130 minutes of noise (of which i would love to attend), no hello's, no good nights, just heres the music, walk off
sean and robs idea is "the music speaks for itself"
wehre as i kinda agree with that, its only PAR when you see a show for the artists to be a little conversational with those who paid money to see them, but thats not the case with autechre

"this next little number contains components we created, ooh, about seven months ago.. actually, there's a funny little story about that, but it involves Rob, so I guess he should tell it.."
"ha ha, oh Sean, I thought we decided not to tell that story anymore.. anyways, there I was.. in my studio, everything right as rain, when suddenly.."

qrter yeah, being a hardcore fan is humiliating at times but i suppose its just part of being american? i dunno. i guess theres worse if you count the likes of CX
giginger we haven't spoke since the interview man, i await the next one. but yeah, that's the shit i'm talking about. so many people brag on listening to this out-there music but when the well-known tunes come up, theyre like, "heh, yeah i think i heard this one before". yeah i ought to karate kick you in the face for not dancing to this song man, every1 should be hip to this!!!
