[last night] CS2x Live

I was fortunate enough to be one of only a couple of dozen
people in the Bush hall, London last night to witness a
truly inspiring set by Robert Logan (CS2x) and his backing
voalist Andrea Black. I'm not saying this to kiss ass or
anything because I'll readily admit that IDM is not my first
choice in music yet last night it was superb and I think I
understood for the first time what it was about. It really
is so much better live than on CD, I wish I'd made more of
an effort to go to Autechre now..

Well done CS2x. I was impressed.

did anyone else go?

I went as well, and you're completely right, Rob was
awesome. It's the first time I've heard that kind of music
live and for more than five minutes or so and it really was
an experience. It's a shame his laptop got shut down halfway
through the set. More car noises next time, please!

I actually got an impromptu preview last friday in Rob's
car, i feel sorry for the fans that were watching that's all
i'm saying. I'm not saying this cause i thought it was
rubbish (although i'll be having extra words with CS2x next
time i see him), it's just Rob was really adamant that he'd
be bombarding the crowd with noise. I'm sure knowing Rob
though he played a nice track to say sorry (i tolde him to).

you must be tone deaf, his set was really brilliant and the
noise he played at the end, albeit cut short as a result of
a mere 25 minute slot, was greeted with applaud from the
crowd (most of whom had mainly gone to watch the Jazz which
was on afterwards).

Stop trying to act like he's your bitch Xeron. He's on a
record label and has been doing the London circuit for a
while now: I think he knows a bit more about what good music
is than you, a college pupil who doesn't even try to make
his own music. Get real.

Thanks for comming, it was very fun.

Luckily the laptop cocked up a little only after the set was
finished-it was only me and the singer mucking about a
little anyway. Too many plugins.

Do you happen to have any of that above described music
recorded?? Like that with some vocals, like with Andrea
Black?? Or you are improvising on your sets?

This coming from a member who only joined because he was
intrigued by Delerios Weasel's antics; (also can I just
clear up somthing- most of DW crap actually originated from
bushmeister, you should see them plotting on what to post
next).

You know evenless about music and aren't in a position to
offer critique as that was your first ever gig you've been
to that has displayed any form of electronica, you've never
been to a rave and the only electronica you've heard is
maybe snippets of what nik/DW may have shown you(which is
probably quite limited and of a more comercial kind-he like
me is still building up his collection). Also get your facts
straight, I DO COMPOSE MY OWN MUSIC, whether I believe you
worthy enough to hear it is a totally different matter.
Music is subjective thus Rob's "good" music may be sombody
else's "crap" music.

You also need to read a little bit more, I do state I heard
his repetoire before any of you AND had a conversation along
the same lines as my post with him thus i'm not trying to
act like anybody's bitch. Now f*cking read, digest and put
it in your mexican pipe and smoke it.

giginger- that pic is probably what Rob's gonna look like in
future.

Vampire Angel- he has done quite a few threads with links to
his music, when i get home i'l post you the link.

Lots of people asked me after I played for the track I did
with Andrea Black, so I'll probably upload it somewhere soon
(unless, of course, she decides that's worthy of release,
which would be great.)

Meanwhile, I have about five tunes I did a while ago on my
website (which is in my profile.) They're on the shitty
soundclick website, but that's fine if you stream the files.
:-)

Dude, what is up with you today? :-S

Nothing you heard in the car was played, and I did not do
any noise either (it's hardly the kind of gig where you can
do that, a bit of a wasted oppurtunity that would be.)

were gonna play that at the gig.

Well, the two tracks you heard were unfinished and I decided
not to play them because they were too minimal and
boring....(they were made for Ivor Guest, anyway, as he
likes that kind of thing.)

Your posting is bizzarely agressive today.

It went well thank you. Luckily for me and the people
listening, I decided not to do any of that minimal ambient
stuff; mostly melodic beat-driven pieces and some stuff with
a singer.

why the fuck are you bringing me into this?

I do not plot what to post with bushmeister, what kind of a
sad bastard do you take me for? and you know that's not true
so why are you even bothering to lie in order to taint my
image you sad case Paolo. For fucks sake why can't you grow
up and post something that is worth the point you get for it
rather than spend all your time trying to get me banned.
