most probably been asked many a time but

at the moment it's easy to make a dvd from 1 avi file, i
encode it with vso divxtodvd and then burn it with nero. but
what if i wanted to combine several avi files on 1 dvd? i've
tried merging avi files using avijoin but reliable it is
not. help pls, all suggestions welcome.

Nero Ultlimate Edition has that ability. You can get to it
through Smart Start. Can't remember what it's called though.

doom9 will have an answer for sure.

divxtodvd does do multiple avis into one dvd, though you
don't believe me, but no, I don't believe it does menus.

You need TMPg's Tsunami DVD software - they have a demo
version you can try out, and allows you to create DVDs with
menus from mutliple video files.
