Don't you ever stop DJing combo. Just because some commercial-crap-liking-people told you that man. Fuck what they say and keep doing what you most like and the style you want. I bet you'll found lotsa people who loves everything you played at a specific place. I don't really DJ but a friend of mine ionvited me last saturday. I just accepted and played a weird set there. Only like 7 persons told me that they enjoy what I played because was so different from the shit-musik they play every frdays and saturdays :) Now, if I see those 7 out of 54. I was so happy that they liked it soo much that I didnt even care what the rest of the pople could say really...So Combo, keep on doing what ya like please. Ignore those who, like you said, don't even listen to "real music" just the commercial shit thta's out there. ;) |

Find different parties to play. If your audience doesn't appreciate your art, change your art or change your audience. That is how people like merzbow and atomtm get around to making a hundred albums in a ten year time without oversaturating their market, and people like like eminem and britney spears get away with making millions of dollars on two albums, while totally oversaturating their audience. |

you can't play music you like the most at parties..well at least if you want to impress the crowd that is. which sucks really, but you can find good stuff for almost any crowd, just gotta look a bit i think. ofcourse you can put a song you enjoy here and there as well and see the response.. |
