Yes, i'm French (oui, je suis Français) and the rule here
is to write in english (mais la règle ici est d'écrire en
anglais) even if I (and you) not entirely agree with that
(même si je (et vous) suis pas tout à fait d'accord avec
cela.

If you are definitely not agree with that, make your own
messageboard in French and hope to get as many visitors as
here. (and perhaps, i will be one of them)

It's not a rule. It just seems to happen that way. The site
is run by a swedish bloke

Sorry, i don't have a lot of vocabulary, i try to write the
better i can. And i think it is for this reason some people
would like to speak their mother tongue.

kikoo.

there are quite a few french-speaking people here, yes...
but conversations in foreign (non-english) languages are
frustrating for other people. i find it annoying when i see
other people speaking italian or swedish or polish or
whatever here... so please don't do the same... : )

That's stupid.. you have to remember whether every single
object is male or female...? That's wastes a lot of neuron
space that could be spent sniffing glue.

Yeah its complicated w M w... that's weird I was just
speaking about this a week ago over the usenet. (Quoting
from the message). The language losts its neutral form.

"That's something you guys have difficulties with, which
word is feminised and which is masculinised. There is no
true law to it, it's a combination of which is better
sounding, some latin etymology and some form of weird logic
(some objects feel more feminine than others). "

So "the chair" in french is "La chaise". Its feminised.
Why is that? Well it just rolls off the tougue better then
"Le chaise". Heck its so much more complicated, but Im not
here to give you a class ;)

That's why French is considered the language of art, because
poetically its gives you so much more possibilities.

yes, in some ways you use your brain more than with english

even if it at first it seems a waste of time and
over-complication, the context in which the decisions are
taken is well worth knowing about and probably a big part of
our cultural heritage

i mean, it's not "stupid", uzim, and you know it ;)
