What do you think the vocoded voice is saying in these
songs?
My guesses:
Phonatacid: "Phonatacid is dangerous"
Crying In Your Face: "My best friend was crying in New York"

I doubt that it's vocoded speech, I think it's a synth
(possibly a 303 or sh101) run through some heavy ms20
filtering.

take another listen with your ideas in mind.

Here you go, a nice example of filtering : talking ms20

Ok, but I still stand by my opinion that he's using filtered
synths :)

although i'm not saying it isn't what he did on these
releases nobody really knows but him and whoever he tells.
if your trying to figure out what the aledged voice is
saying time stretch the song out and see for your self, it
sounds like some thing somethin
crying....crying....something something. i don't really
know or care. but it sounds very vocoderish

but then again a vocoder system is pretty much a unique
filtering system so...

i can really hear the NY thing... hahaha...

Haha, it does really sound like "my best friend was crying
in new york" :D

I don't buy the ms20 theory tho. I think it's just a
combination of a slightly unclear signal in, the carrier and
a vocoder with 4bands or less.

'i think my friend was crying - in your face'

I wonder where its taken from.

Phonatacid sounds like its saying 'phonatacid is ?????'

Phonatacid, I love. The lyrics are (seriously):

''The aphex twin is in the house''

then

''The aphex twin is in the house... cunt''

then

''The aphex twin is in the house''

then

''The aphex twin is in the house... cunt''

etc.

listen to it with these he definately adds 'cunt' every
other time! ive listened to this song a lot.. love it.
