it's repetetive and so simple but I can't help finding it
beautiful.
and somehow the idea behind it gets to me. I get a strange
feeling when listen to it. not allot of music can get to me
like this.
listening to 3.1 now. I'm gonna order it when I get my visa
card.

got them all, love them all. i think that the guy who wrote
the review for pitchfork described it best in the part where
he compares the feeling you get from this music to being
peaceful in the womb..

yeah I always compare moments when I feel at peace to when I
was in the womb.

i was just reading a book in which opiate addiction is
described as a manifestation of the desire to return to the
womb.

maybe that's the true meaning of the disintegration loops
(given their connection to the 9/11 bombing); they
simultaneously invoke the liquid staticity of the womb, and
the peaceful fulfillment of the death wish, when the music
is finally eroded into oxide dust.

for me, they are a little too melancholy. but i still keep
thinking about how i should get around to listening to them
again. ideally through a massive pa in the middle of the
country.

is each cd a different loop or is it just one sound in
various stages?

i don't know how to answer that :)
it's one sound in different loops? :)

i mean, he was transferring loops as they disintegrated,
right? my question is, do you hear one loop playing over
and over on all the cds, or are there different loops
playing on each cd respectively?

there are 6 loops that appear on the four discs in different
stages of decay. i think (off the top of my head) that the
most any loop appears is in three versions.

the loops are not presented sequentially, they're broken up.
for example, loop one appears on disc one, and then on disc
four in two different stages of decay.

2062

how about buying them directly from the artist for $20
including shipping? maybe you should double check that that
included overseas, but he says he takes international postal
money orders, so i assume he will ship overseas for the same
price. That's about 11 pounds each right now.

I'd just like to hear one entire track of this... are there
any complete samples somewhere?

i think you'll likely only find excerpts, unless you obtain
a clandestine copy. also, some individual tracks are 60
minutes plus...

yeah, and that's why small parts aren't very useful... not
much change going on there...
