This is what I bought in iTunes the other night. It's a good release. Some really clever orchestration but at points the playing lets it down. With a bit more practice this could've been fucking awesome. |

Yeah, I .. got it too, I was really looking forward to it but as a whole, it let me down. I think '4' is by far the best track on it, and it's available online. I was so excited about getting the whole album, but alas... :/ |

I like. Orchestrating this stuff and making it sound good is pretty difficult. I remember when I saw the Warp/Sinfonietta show in 2004 I was impressed by the rendition of Polygon Window, but it somehow didn't feel right. Everything that I love about the original, the subtlety of the arrangement and development, was lost in the sheer bombastic volume of having all those performers hammering drums etc. Interesting though. |
