shit hot....

ceephax was brilliant, some rough tunes played, everyone
going bananas, this guy should start releasing a lot more, a
handful of discs over what, 7 years? highlight of friday for
sure.

squarepusher banged out a few new ones, sounded pretty epic,
along the same lines as UV and breezeblock stuff, played all
the classics, total genius on the bass. he said on the mic,
"i've got this plan right.... it's pretty simple.... WE'RE
GOING TO TEAR THE FUCKING ROOF OFF!" ceephax up on stage
dancing to beep street was funny

afx ripped it up good and proper, i would suggest that
rumours of an analord 12 are possible, one track had a
stonking 303 line that sounded like the analords. he must
have played about 50 tunes, perfectly mixed, reworked oldies
off saw 2 and icbyd with beats, a fucking awesome set, as
good as last year.

roll on next year

Aphex at glade last year was a crowd pleaser. When he's in a
festival situation he tends to mix his own stuff together.
But if he's DJing for Rephlex he usually mixes other
people's tunes. The best DJ sets i've heard are by him.

asking now.

I personally reccomend looking at the Glade Festival forum
when it comes back on, you'll get a better chance of
recieving a bootleg that way

i think you could be right there. i'm sure they could make a
few quid by flogging them though... maybe it's a copyright
thing?

Ceephax was shit. I left.

Squarepusher wasn't loud enough. Really needed to be a lot
fucking louder. The music was great but it had no fucking
punch to it which it really needed. I was dissapointed.

AFX wasn't on top form but it was enjoyable and it was good
to hear him play his own tunes for a change.

Cylob was fucking awesome and my favourite of the weekend.

Luke Vibert is a close fucking second and that mix he did of
a track from Melodies from Mars was fucking sweet. I've got
video of that which I'll upload later.

Chris Clark was fucking badass with some quality visuals
with the music.

Plaid were good. I didn't stay inside for it though as I was
thirsty.

DJ Rephlex Records sucked ass. HARD.

Shitmat gets my vote. Dropping Thomas the Tank Engine was a
top idea.

Good weekend.

Strangely it didn't seem empty. Maybe it's just the way my
footage is. Straight after the MFM bit AFX came in himself
for about 30 secs then wandered off and stood outside as
Vibert dropped a fair few of his tunes.

pf: Sorry mate. I didn't think to get any footage which I'm
now kicking myself about.

Awesome!

Squarepusher was amazing as far as i am concerned, although
as Chris said it wasn't quite loud enough.

Afx was really nice too!

Hextatic was also amazing!

offline mylittlesister from ...wherever (United Kingdom) on 2005-07-17 16:57 [#01666212]

squarepusher was frustratingly disappointing. He was playing
amazing stuff on bass guitar, but his mac/decks/etc were too
quiet. I could hear someone talking behind me more than i
could the music.

afx was satisfactory :P it just seemed a bit 'standard' at
times. highlights were the 'kasson dalef' start which most
people missed, and mookid [suited the weather].

ceephax was definately a crowd pleaser, but just seemed like
a novelty act to me.

luke vibert was amazing, he definately knows his records
well - cutting them up loads during his set (especially red
hot car, and fenix funk, which seemed to make short
appearences in many sets)

i'm gutted i missed hexstatic, as i heard all good stuff
about them, but i saw cylob and chris clark instead.

chris clark was as dark as always, which was definately
helped by the flat-e visuals. haha, cylob was classic!
"1.... 2.... 3.... 4.... LETS GET MEN'ALL!"

wasnt too keen on plaid's set, and i missed shitmat - my
mates said he was their fave of the festival.

caught gescom [rob hall] at the end of sunday. he was doing
a pretty cool set, but i was knackered and falling asleep at
the side, hah :D
