im really getting into this early stuff. at the moment my
favs are deffinitely throbbing gristle and cabaret voltaire!
so intense it makes my brain hurt. they don't make music
like this anymore..

who are your favourites? and what other industrial bands
shall i check out?

isnt autechre in the mid ninetees a little industrial?

anvil vapre ep
envane ep
chiastic slide

a wee bit, but the methods used in the case of autechre are
much different to how throbbing gristle, coil, or skinny
puppy made their music back in the day.

Try Killing Joke. Especially their last album. I`m not sure
if it`s pure industrial (who cares anyway), but it might be
the thing you looking for.

There's only one artist for the job here...

Gridlock

Formless is the best industrial album EVER and is very
highly acclaimed.

Jeez. I used to be into the melodic industrial like skinny
puppy, lard, pig, ministry, machines of loving grace.
A lot of the stuff I forget about tho.

killing joke is great, but they certainly don't qualify as
industrial music. not even a little bit. their new album
is heavy metal.

check out:

early psychic tv (dreams less sweet)
coil
SPK
skinny puppy

stuff like NIN, KMFDM, Ministry, etc - that's much, much
different from the original concept of industrial music. i
know eveyone loves to call that stuff industrial, but it's
rock music with samplers.

My favorites-
Rasthof Dachau
early Current 93
Ain Soph
early Coil
Der Blutharsch
Blood Axis
Skinny Puppy
Asmorod
NON (Boyd Rice)

You can get a lot of cool industrial at Strange Fortune and
Steinklang Industries. Although a lot of it is more like
post-industrial, that's what I'm into.

the first pigface record, GUB, is great. after that, their
releases rapidly declined in quality, imo.

Well all of Gridlock is industrial. Formless is great, yes,
but Trace blows it out of the water as a whole. Also check
out "Further" after you get Trace and Formless. Its even
harder but still has beautiful lush pads/melodies.
