I'm dreadfully lacking in stuff from ninja tune.. People used to say that their output was consistantly brilliant, but it seems to have taken a dive in recent times (as far as i can tell).. So I don't want to waste my time getting the not-so-great-stuff.
Any suggestions then?

kid koala is great, but that 'live from the audio theatre tour' thingie was crap.
only 5 songs, 3 were previously availible on older albums, and all of them sound crap when 'played live'. and while the cartoons on the dvd were good, the djing really destroyed the mystery for me.

Cinematic Orchestra is truly beautiful.
Amon Tobin is alright, although his earlier stuff is best. He recently started making crap, starting with out from out there (or whatever its called) and proceeded to continue making crap.
Bonobo is spectacular.
Blockhead is spectacular.
Wagon Christ is spectacular.
And if you are looking for that ninja tune sound, Harmonic 33 is amazing, although they are on warp, not ninja tune.

why nobody else mentions Clifford Gilberto? i suppose several possible answers: 1) i am dramatically wrong cause he is not Ninja Tune product

If you go to Mishkas, you'll find both the latest shows have a Ninja Tune track on.
The first show has a brand new Herbaliser one, which is actually a really good track.
The second show has an amazing track by a fairly unheard-of new Ninja Tune act called Ammon Contact. That one's thoroughly recommended.
And, of course, this is all free to download.

it's pretty much all crap except for the last irresistable force album which was O.K.
Mixmaster Morris told me that Matt Black swapped the running order around in a really innapropiate way for that album, I would have told him where to go (I heard the pre-release version and it was much better), MB did once compliment me on one of my sets though so he can't be that bad.

A good 3CD selection is Xen Cuts. That has some excellent tracks.
I would suggest also getting the more recent compilation cat no ZEN85 a retrospective which is pretty good and has a wide range.
individual albums I can recall and like: ZEN55 solid steel DK and DJ food, (very good mix excellent.)
DJfood - kalaidoscope (lovely album ) Coldcut - Let Us Replay (i like it) Chris Bowden - Slightly Askew (jazzy like improvised jazz)
early N-tone stuff is fantastic too... (this is more like braindance imo)
journeyman - 50cc Transcend - 2001 Real Life (3) - Journey Of The Carcharadon
get the two compilations i mentioned and that has pretty much every ninja artist and you can get a good idea of what you like.
don't know if the n tone stuff is rare, but its great. almost all of the recent ninja stuff has been refried poo and is not original. amon tobin probably is but I haven't heard much, he is nearly always good though.
Infact I would suggest: Solid Steel Presents Amon Tobin Recorded Live CD
I have the promo which differs slightly but its a fantastic mix.
