 | the original just has such momentum and tension wound up in it, this version's tempo seems a bit slower also (don't have
the original at work to compare, though). despite the fact
that they made "4" sound like the tv theme to a show about
young lawyers and the trials they face in the big city i
 still like it...

overall i think they did a very good job.

anyone who like these might also want to check out the
balanescu quartet's string arrangements of kraftwerk
classics, very nicely done as well.

 | I heard a few tracks from this. Some more samples here, maybe linked already, I didn't check.

Not really big on it... cool that they can duplicate the
percussion, but I was hoping for a complete rethinking of
the material, the melody and tunes are there for it. I
didn't WANT to hear that percussion done like that again,
I've already heard that. But it's still very cool, just not
 what I expected or wanted.

 | ...not for me either, it just sounds bad - but I guess the trained musicians do what they´re used too - playing
covers. great to have the kitchy "Phil Collins goes
 classical"-treatment on AFX music.

was there really a need for hearing avril 14th acoustic?!?!
Nah, come on - do "73-yips" instead! :D

I´ve heard of alarm will sound before, they´re playing on
a Steve Reich album I got... (that track on that album
sounds just as mediocre as those AFX-covers, but I haven´t
another version of that track so I can´t compare it with
another performance, maybe it´s written that way. compared
to "octet", alarm will sounds version of "music for a large
esemble" sounds as something being shuffled to extreme on a
 Roland 808 machine)
