yeah, there are lots of personal grudges.. a post by one
member could be completely similar to another members post
(if you imagine the two separately, and in either instance
the the other wouldn't occur), and not be accepted as well
as if the other one had done it. I've got examples, but not
sure if I'd want to mention them...

1. i have a hard time believing that this gang of cs2x
aren't all friends or the same person and they're not just
fucking with people. because this fits his "sense of humor"
perfectly.

2. some of you pro-lighten-uper's are the ones taking it
too seriously. pomme made a good point with this thread and
he's got a right to say what he said.

3. tridenti attack, you are totally out of your element in
this thread. you are too new to the board to totally
understand what's going on.

4. maybe the accused should shut the fuck up, take advice
from the moderators who don't like what they're doing
and get their shit together so that they don't get b7.

5. sorry for the numbered list, i realize how lame this
is.

6. just as The New Seriousness wasn't real, neither is
this. relax and continue business as usual. it's going to
be all right.

1: maybe.. I wouldn't know...

2: I think pomme is right too, but it seems like, if things
are like cs2x says, they don't really talk too much to each
other in real life... but that wasn't wahat we were talking
about now last... we just think people need to lighten up
and have more fun... ignore posts one doesn't think are
funny, and stop nagging. I'm nagging about people naggin,
but it's a chain reaction. I'll try to stop now.

3: there's an expression that "fresh eyes see better," but I

Actually it's because there are so many different characters

and personalities on XLT that makes this a great forum, In
the real world there isn't one community where there isn't
conflict (be it physical, ideological etc.). The problem
comes when people begin to take stuff too seriously, if you

don't like a thread just ignore it instead of banning it.
Just because people know eachother and aren't ashamed to
admit it doesn't mean they should be prosecuted, isn't the
purpose of a forum to meet new people and express new
ideas? In the case of the "Only for Xeron" thread maybe I
should have just e-mailed tridenti, but if XLT offers the
opportunity to respond in a more sociably and convenient way

I don't see the problem in doing so. I sympathise with pomme

seeing all the nosy buggers who invaded the thread but like

most crap threads it was evovlving, me and dog_belch were
begining to talk about the language barrier he faced when he

moved to Chile (somthing I was interested in, being able to

speak 4 languages). I just hope XLT can return to "normal"
and be less autocratic.

2. I always have

3. That is probably the best piece of advice in this
thread.

4. Other people dont have a voice because Moderators
disagree? I dont agree with that. There is a difference
between respecting and thinking about what is said that
stonewalling members.

5. Its ok. Its easier to respond to and more organized. We
dont have the cool multiple quotes thing like other PHPbb
boards or whatever they are

6. Yes it was. Thats what led to the very state things are
in right now. It was Jedi becoming a mod and the banfest
that started. It continued during his downfall and for some
reason things are a bit chaotic as of late. More moderation
doesnt help the situation. A downtime of the board would
most likely help all parties involved.

You know something's wrong with a few board members when
everytime some shitty thread is closed there follows three
or four days of anguished mourning and multiple threads
filled with cries of "WHHHYYYY??? It's not the same here

Can some people listen to VP and r40f? Because they're

more. Everyone forgets how valuable email can be. Although
there are exceptions to the rule for the most part that
should be the way to fly.

I am a bit sick of seeing people over react too. Then again
i think this entire thread from post number 1 was an over
reaction. Then again what do i know... ima panda

No one is moderating anything. For chistsakes, I make a post
to complain about something on the board and everyone runs
around flapping their arms around screaming B7. I am just a
member of the board trying to bring an issue to the surface
so there can be an open dialogue within the community.

If no one else is annoyed that these 6 guys, who are
probably all sitting by eachother in a computer lab, are
filling up the board with a bunch of wank like they own the
place then I'll drop it.

I guess I was taking things too serriously. Sorry.

the whole point is that you are a mod and you are the one
that has to take action for the benefit of the community.
or if you personally don't want to do it, there others who
have read it at this point. now that you've made a thread
warning them, it's all out in the open and they have no
right to come back and whine about getting banned if they
keep acting like asses.

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2005-06-18 13:32 [#01637254]
Points: 14210 Status: Regular

the mods shouldn't feel like "the bad guy" when they're the
only ones charged with keeping things in order. it can't be
an easy job to begin with.

then you have people, with good intentions, worrying about
the greater good and "will this establish a precedent?" no
it won't - it means that the people who should be banned
will get banned. that's not the new seriousness bullshit.
that's mods doing their jobs.

so i don't understand ophecks and some of you other guys at
all. why would phob appoint three new moderators unless he
wanted more action taken against annoying members and
trolls, etc? it's a good thing there are more mods and it's
good when they use their best judgement and ban the people
who deserve it.

I haven't seen anything wrong in the way the mods have been
acting, but you can't take it out on the more "liberal" mods
either r40f, you need a balance of personalities and ideals,
its what makes a good forum.

I'm sorry if it may have seemed as if I was explaining

hadn't been said, I was in no way ignoring the mods or
trying to undermine them in any way. Infact if you read

and now that I'm at peak.
you know at first it really hurt.

I've skirted all my differences
but now I'm facing up.
I wanted to apologize for
everything I was. so
I'm sorry so sorry...

did you understand me right?
the people here are good.
they tell me what I should have done
and offer what I could.
I'm good all is good
all's well no complaints.
when I feel regret,
I get down on my knees and pray.
I'm sorry, so sorry...

I live a simple life
unfettered by complex sweets.
you think this isn't me?
don't be weak.
there I go.
I'm so sorry.

thank you for being there for me.
thank you for listening, goodbye.
I can forfeit selfishness
I hope for you that you apply
this happiness
this peacefulness
I'm sorry, so sorry...

I live a simple life
unfettered by complex sweets.
you think this isn't me?
that's so sweet.
I'm so sorry

You completely missed my point. If Pomme feels action needs
to be taken on these guys, by all means take it. But in my
experience, bringing issues like this onto the board in a
topic like this is not as effective as doing it OFF the
board. That's my opinion and I have the right to say it.
Question me, whatever, I couldn't care less, but I know this
from experience. I saw a potential shitstorm because of this
topic, I'm glad it didn't happen. I did see plenty of shit
to cringe at, though.

This CS2x thing is indeed shit, I've had perfectly fine
exchanges with him about music and whatnot. Maybe I'm a
''soft cunt'', but to think CS2x brought this upon is
laughable at best.

I think the big problem here is most people seem to use it
as a place to practice typing.

You know, pretty much the only way that this whole mess
could be sorted out if everybody got temporarily banned for
a week. Then they could go outside, work on music, play
games, and stop using this place as a place to waste time.
