when The Matrix came out, i was 15 years old. now i'm 21, and Batman Begins is doing what The Matrix did.
so obviously Batman Begins is much more mature film than The Matrix.

I like the fact that the batmobile was "made in England". The Americans all said it can't be done, you can't make a batmobile from scratch (they wanted to just add pieces of cardboard to sum monolithe of a car). Of course here in Britain we actually give things a go and make high quality items.

I've re-read Miller's Year One and The Dark Knight Returns so I'm so psyched for this movie. Also read that piece of crap The Dark Knight Strikes Again for the first time.
Has anyone torrented any good copies of it yet? I'm broke.

It has nothing to do with the other Batman movies and their ''continuity''. Total reboot of the franchise, which is a brilliant move. Lots of potential and great stories left in the Batman mythos for future sequels like this. Schumacher took Burton and Miller's vision and fucked it up.

i liked tim burtons batman. i hated the rediculous spin offs from them. i love how they hype up the same old shit we've pretty much seen before. when i watched the trailer the only real difffernce aside fromt he actors and places was that bruce wayne's training sequences. so is this a remake? is this a new story? since we already know batmans origin do they go through it again? why bother when we've already seen it before. its like making spiderman over again and calling it spiderman reborn. rediculous. its a pretty safe bet to assume that batman will make a lot of money. spit out a couple other movies, then the rolls will change and it will get shitty again, and then be released again later on. same shit over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

i haven't seen it yet, but i have some serious doubts about bale playing batman.
bale seems to be too good at playing the mentally disturbed psychopaths (american psycho and the mechanic). bale as batman automatically implies mr wayne to be one of those too....and i don't want MY batman to be one of those!!!

Basically. He's not too much lower on the Insanity Totem Pole than the people he's beating up.
I expect Bale pulled it off, he's got skills. I don't expect he'll make me forget Michael Keaton, though.

Well I saw it finally. Expectations met, very true to the spirit and mythology of the graphic novels that inspired, and that's all they needed to do. The source material was nearly perfect to begin with.
I didn't like the art style as much as Tim Burton's movies, and I definitely didn't like the Batmobile, but it's still a gorgeous movie and Bale was Bat-tastic. Katie Holmes was the only thing in this movie that was subpar.
Wonder who they'll get for the inevitable sequel, villain-wise... Clayface? I'd want to see Two-Face back, he'd fit in to this style. Tommy Lee Jones's Two-Face in Batman Forever was an absolutely pathetic render of that character.

i liked it alot, especially the story ruled mucho
i wasnt too impressed with the overall atmosphere though, it was just dark like ive seen so much before, the jokes were lousy for instance. also there might be way to much that's explained, like the escaped lunatics are prolly meant as all the future villians and stuff, i dont want it to be so realistically correct. therefor i still like the first batman better

Haha, yeah, some of the one liners were goofy.
''Nice coat'' ''Thanks''
??!
Gotham was a bit bland compared to Burton's vision, and the villains didn't have time to really make the same kind of impression Jack Nicholson did. But they did cram a lot of stuff in here, I knew that was going to happen. So I wasn't disapointed.

Well Ras in the comics is an amazing character, not ''normal'' at all. Cool powers and a very complex guy, this movie didn't do the real Ras Al Gul justice at all. Not that you ever could in a 2 hour flick, so whatever.
And actually I guess I should have said up there that we already know who the villains in the next film are going to be, _____ and ______. But beyond the obvious, I'd like to see Two Face done right. Because... the villain alluded to in Batman Begins, was, uh, already done right.

I think the Animated Series is the best version of Batman ever, outside of the comics, better than the movies. They did a pretty decent job with Ras and an awesome version of Two Face.

I just saw got back from the theater after seeing this movie. It was ok. I really like the special effects, they were fantastic.
Gothem City looks fantastic!
There were a lot of cheap parts, lines etc etc.
It was ok I guess. I thought the part where Batman is talking to Scarecrow (just after spraying him in the face with tha fear dust)
was really really cool. Scarecrow is all tripping out and looks like fucking cracked out. That was cool!
It's worth seeing, it was ok.
This batman film will age much much faster then the Tim Burton ones I am sure. Lot's of really really cheesy parts.
