Why am I so tired?

Is it what I am eating? My sleep patterns?

A few weeks ago I couldn't even get to sleep, now all I
want
to do is sleep. Sometimes I am overly hyper active and
other
times I am just really really tired and silent.

I think It could be my diet, I don't eat much but sometimes
I'll just pig out in a huge splurge. I rarely feel the
feeling of HUNGER, I only eat because I think I SHOULD or
that I am bored, and sometimes a good bowl of cereal is a
great way to pass the time.

Like right now I could sleep for about 3-6 hours, but it's
like 6 pm. I woke up at 1pm today. Went to bed at 5am.

But really I am getting the right amount of sleep
right?That
is 8 hours of sleep. I heard that if you sleep more then 8
hours you actually become more tired throughout the day.

Anyway I don't know what is wrong with me, I think it could
just be a side effect of complete laziness, I don't even
feel like doing THINGS. I just want to lie down , but like
ALL THE TIME.

Think it could be a blood sugar level thingy? Like I said I
eat like a fuck, seriously I could go 2 days with only like
a granola bar, then like go the exact opposite direction
and
start eating mad. I think it's the way I eat but I am not
sure. I thought I'd leave a post here because I have the
feeling a lot of you guys and gals have the same problems,
I
think it is inherent to the whole COMPUTER MESSAGE BOARD
CULTURE thing ... Less sleep more computer.

Tanks!!!!!!!

Really? hehehe Or is that the name of a song "why am I so
tired?"

I don't mean it in a social sense, Iask the question in it's
literal context without any sort of altered meaning hehehe.

i disagree. in fact if you use it well it can be extremely
healthy. it's inactive television watching that saps life.
the interaction of the internet requires at least a low
level of alertness.

i sleep for about 12-14 hours a day, i smoke & drink way too
much and rarely get to bed before 5am and rarely wake up
before 3pm. (lastest i've woke up is 7pm) i constantantly
feel drained of energy and lethargic and angry and my diet
is a fucking joke. some day i will live of ciggarettes and
Tea, and some days i will indulge on junk foood and peanuts
and pork scratchings. i drink every day. i think i have a
similar problem. lets start a club.

I had the same stuff, and aside from doing more exercise,
and eating vitamins; paradox: you need to get less sleep.
don't give in to the tiredness in the middle of the day..
reduce your "downtime" to six hours per night, and go to bed
at set times... after about a month, you should be able to
go back to normal... light-treatment also helps...

"lets start a club."
I just quit smoking, though I find smoking keeps me up all
night, but daym smoking feels good on a hot summer night
when yuor making music and drinking A beer. Not getting
drunk, just having a beer or 2 :)

I think I might goto the doctor and get checked out. I'll
keep you guys posted.

"perhaps it's depression?"
Maybe ... I'd like to say I don't get depressed but I think
that would be lieing. At this very moment I am not
depressed. I feel like ... blah. Maybe thats depression? I
feel lazy.

"how much do you weigh? are you technically pretty "

I am 6 3'' 175 punds. I keep going up and down in weight.
About a month ago I was 160. I havn't been over eating , I
thnk I just have been doing less. I always try to jog now
and then but lately I havn't had time (of that excuse
hehehe) but I have been singing in a new band lately and it
has been really draining a lot of my energy. It's kind of
like Alexis on fire type stuff, so it's lots of running
around and screaming.

corrupted-girl:
Maca? Is that over the counter? I just went to Shoppers
drugmarts website and they don't have it listed there. You
are Canadian , where do you get it?

it to anything else?

no its extremely subtle. as generally any plant product is i
guess.
up to the point where i am not entirely sure it had any real
effects.
it was 10 dollars for 90 capsules, and i was taking 3 a day,
i only have a few lef,t i dont know if ill buy more.
that is the 5htp i mean. people also take it for other
things.
with st johns wart, same sort of thing. i dont know its
supposed to be good as an anti-depressant. someitmes i get
terrible dreams with it in combination with melatonin, but
sometimes melatonin does that on its own.
i guess im not very helpfull

i know that feeling... i have more or less the same
"syndroms" in holidays : )

maybe it's screens and late sleeping pattern
and lack of exercice. i don't think it has got
anything to do with depression, at least not for me, i'm not
depressed at all.

'its ok, you ain't alone. I'm like that, the same as you
exactly. I never fall asleep until 2, 3 4 am. Heck when I
get home around 10 or eleven in the night, I feel a little
sleepy but when I enter my house, BAM! I can't feel the need
to go to bed.

But sometimes it's the opposite BAM! I have to go sleep
somewhere (like, this fucking moment now I was actually
falling asleep with my head doing those movements reading
this thread). It's been like that for the past 3 years, at
least. I was told my biological clock is set for a 4-10am
sleep, so I'm fucked every time I wake up at 5h30am (which
is, every day of the week).

I'll often do "40hours", which is a term I say for when I
stay awake 2 days straight, then sleep 8 hours. But often
it ain't even 8 hours, say I go to bed at 10pm, well at 2 or
3 am I'll have my big eyes wide-open not able to fall
asleep.

I guess it's also that Im not able to "zentrify" inside
myself when I go to bed. Too much thinking, analysing,
philosophying, overstressing, distress, fearing, etc...

Maybe it's part of growing up? Have you found hairs on your
twotter? Do you now feel girls could be something "more"
than friends? Do you feel awkward when your
parents/guardian's see you in the bath? Have you thought
about getting a Livejournal to keep THE WORLD up to date
with your sleeping patterns? Why not keep a tally of your
stool consistency whilst you're at it?

is this really advisable? won't the lady complain?

this may be normal in Chile, but here in the Real World we

i go to bed at 11pm everyday before a work day, and i get up
at 7am, its the only way i can get to work on time. at first
it was those hours were a real bitch (after months of
unemployment when i would go to bed/get up whenever i felt
like it) but i found a secret - i always try to wake up
about 10 to 20 minutes before i have to get up. i go to the
bathroom, get clothes ready to put on, then go back to bed
for 10-20 minutes of rest. then when i have to get up i dont
feel so tired, my body has had time to adjust. i dunno if it
will work for you, but you could try it.

for most people the bit of getting up out of bed in the
first place is the hardest.

it would be "waking suicide" to then go and have a lie down
again, in my case at least.

i find it easy to get up when i know i'll be going to be
lying down again very soon. but by the time i do, im too
awake to actually go back to sleep. maybe you should try it
a couple of times, once you get into the habit it wont be so
bad.
