I'm getting a record player (or is "deck" a cooler word?!) for my birthday. I've never heard anything on vinyl, so my question to the people who have is...
Is the quality of sound better than CD? What do you think is better?

I'm sorry if thats a stupid question Joc...
What I mean is, does Aphex stuff sound "better" on Vinyl. I hope you know what I mean :-)
I want to get the vinyl's of HAB/HAB2/GAK/AB2 ect and I was just interested :-)

mmm. i love listening to my dad's jimi hendrix vinyls... i love the sound of the needle on the record :-) makes jimi hendrix seem in place somehow....

i really think vinyl sounds much better than cd. its more organic..cd could play much better quality but they make the quality not so good because they produce so many of them

old music sounds better on vinyl becouse it was produced to sound good on vinyl.

most of the music i have is on cd. there two reasons for this: 1. the wearout of cds is much lower than the wearout of vinyl and 2. i'm really lazy to get up from my desk to change the record.
