hey, they're good.
i had average expectations from what i had heard, but some
of it is great... : )

and their videos are pretty cool as well.

they manage to make music which is being liked by 98% of
people who hear it. or 100%, but that's not possible.

i dont like the "virgin suicides" cd. i seriously think its
too sweet, like for a fucking gay drama film.

i do not like virgin suicides too but I knew a guy who liked
it abnormally, he could become your enemy if you didn't like
the album

"I knew a guy who liked it abnormally, he could become
your enemy if you didn't like the album"

people like that are irritating.

I had their track "All I Need" stuck in my head the other
day. Which reminds me, the video for that was pretty nicely
done too.

I love most of what they've done except for Moon Safari, the
best IMO is 10 000hz legend which just happens to be one of
my best albums of all time.

They're like minty fresh frenchness in every listen.

just doesn't 'click' with me,

most people I know don't mind them though....

quickly; there's little depth to the music.

It's not great, the music is great but the italian bloke
spoils it cos he doesn't shut up (I can't understand
Italian), if only they'd do an instrumental version.

10 000hz legend is incredibly deep, especially if you are a
head with a penchance for electronic music, why isn't anyone
else namechecking this, u have all heard it I presume?

If not do so now, your life will be that bit better for it I
promise.

theres a skate teacher and his girlfriend and they talk abou
love and i cant understand because spoken englih is hard for
my brazilian ears. but their voices and the video
photography makes me love the song and feel romantic and
happy about life and the girls that left and bumped me.

please, native english speakers, is the text on this video
good? does it deserve my love?

10,000 hz legend is great. It's really french and pretty
bizzare in places (particularly the dreadful lyrics) but it
just sets up a great atmosphere. I like all their stuff
really, including Moon Safari. Their worst is the newest
album imo.

funny that everyone seems to love 10 000 Hz Legend here,
i've heard many people found it deceiving : )
maybe it's because it's more experimental or something?
anyway i totally love "The Vagabond", but not "How Does It
Make You Feel" (maybe it takes several listens to like it, i
don't know)... haven't heard all tracks since i don't have
the album though.
so far i have Moon Safari and Talkie Walkie.

-

Refund : have you got the mail i sent you? (i used the mail
in your xlt profile)...

xf : i've heard that a few times... that's why i downloaded
albums before buying them. how quickly did you get bored of
it?

jkd : the regular edition is copy-protected, but is the
limited one with the dvd as well? i've heard that it wasn't
because it's an enhanced cd as well... ' _ '

'everybody hertz' it was awful, but then i only paid £3 for
it new, and it has a video for people in the city, so i
guess it wasnt that bad.

If you love Air's sound and can tolerate bands such as
Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips then please check
Grandaddy.

Their stuff is beautiful , maybe start with "he's simple,
he's dumb, he's the pilot", "nonphenonemal lineage" or "the
warming sun".

I'm a massive Air fan and Grandaddy do it for me in the same
sort of way, lot's of lovely atmospheric analog and
fantastic musical arrangements.

One of the most creative bands out there for me

Kelly Watch the Stars on the album was different from the

if you like mercury rev & grandaddy, check the kingbury
manx, especially their first 2 releases

presumably when you say mercury rev you mean deserters
songs, not that sonic youth type drivel they did beforehand
:)

i really liked deserters songs but the followup all is
dream, and the new album aren't as good.

grandaddy! again the software slump is a great album, but
sumday didn't really hit it with me. i've just dug out he's
simple he's dumb he's the pilot 12", i thought it was such a
good song i bought the single!

on it then I'd be very happy.

cheers for the tip, I only mentioned Mercury Rev because it
would give some indication of what to expect from the
vocals, I'm not a massive MR fan actually, only really ever
half got into their first album plus "bronx cheer" from
Boces.

Sumday is a great album but it does need a bit of pruning,
"the warming sun" is a real spine shiverer once it grows on
you

i had a good look around, it seems the 'all i need' 12" is
rarer than i thought. in fact i could'nt find copy anywhere
in existance. expect for about 1m50 behind me and slightly
to the left :) there are plenty of cd copies of it though.

else, apart from the new remixes from talkie walkie which i
refused to buy on the principal they were rubbish.
