yes i've read the policies.

it is clear we have our differences. i think it would be
fair to leave it at that. my vote will be ineffectual
anyway.

Not to dig at you any more ol' cuntybaws, but i'd be
interested to find out exactly where you stand on the BNP
policy of Resettling The Undesirables.

Do you think it would be in the best interests of the nation
to eventually reduce the black and asian population to zero?
I'd honestly like to know.

doctors! I was disgusted, naturally I refused treatment.

hard question.

fuck did people fight for in the 2nd world war? to keep the
UK a fucking free country. and voting for the BNP goes
against that on so many levels.

"oh no, niggers are taking our jobs" you cry. NO. they are
doing the jobs we don't want. immigrants came over to this
country post war period to do jobs we didn't want to do or
didnt have the manpower to do, and we should so some fucking
gratitude for that.

yes, our immigration system is a bit shit, and really these
days our country has no need for economic migrants, but
political migrants should always be allowed here. the
proportion of illegal immigrants is vastly blown out of
proportion by shit like the daily mail, ever keen to thrust
their facist views upon us.

racists then come out with it, it's better than genuinely
believing that black people are worthless sacks of AIDS

well the problem is, that anyone is allowed to stand to be

its more of an immigration thing really.mostly blown out of
proportion by right wing media, so yeah i guess that could
be seen as racism. the BNP does have a few mps in
government, mainly in areas of the country where race
relations areat an all time low.

only had 5 parties to choose from, the 3 main parties, UKIP

kilroy instead (just kidding!). still, it was better than
the 2001 one election, in that one i had just the 3 main
parties.

"You guys actually have Nazi's on the ballot? How
progressive"

Yes, it's a little political system we have in this country
called democracy. Suggesting that parties with
certain beliefs shouldn't be allowed to stand for election,
is, in itself, non-democratic.

I'll vote for anyone who'll:

lower taxes,
make it more rewarding to work harder,
punish indolence,
improve the piss-poor standards of driving in this country,
through legislation and enforced bans,
sort out the sham that is speed cameras/ludicrous speed
limits,
sort out the ridiculous university fees/mickey mouse courses
debacle (the two are intrinsicaly linked),
sort out the current housing prices,
withdraw us from the EU.

So, a combination of UKIP/BNP/Veritas/Conservative for me. I
can't bring myself to vote for any rascist who wants to
deport minorites/stop legitimate (eg useful/genuine
refugee)immigrants, so UKIP and BNP are off the cards. BTW,
wanting to withdraw from the EU isn't racist, before
someone with their head lodged into their rectum steps in to
'correct' me... My belief to withdraw is based on:
a) economy
and
b) legislation
neither of which have anything to do with 'race'.

So, that leaves Veritas and Conservative and I live in a
conservative stronghold, so no point voting. Voter apathy,
dontchajustloveit?

Blair is a fucking liar, no two ways about it. On top of
that, his policies (especially economic, tax and education)
suck balls. He certainly doesn't represent the interests of
the working man. Quite why he gets in time and time again
(and will again tomorrow, mark my words) is beyond me.
Balls, just remember I was going to put £100 on it but I
haven't had a chance to get to the bookies. Kennedy seems
the nicest bloke out of the big 3 leaders, but that doesn't
mean I think he should run the country.

Howard looks like a vampire and comes across as
fantastically insencere, even when he's talking about things
you know he'd do if he got in. Still, better bloke than
blair.

He he, not a model one; I declined the offer of a
conservative mate to go canvasing in St. Pauls (in Bristol)
with him. I also, rather ironically, only have a couple of
conservative mates. Or rather, those who vote conservative-
I notice a lot of my labour-voting friends seem to actually
want conservative policies and about 80% of my friends are
lib dems.

I wouldn't mind the lib dems getting in, at least there are
some good points to their policies.

not being hostile here, just interested in your POV

No hostility sensed- it's nice to be able to discuss
politics in a mature manner without resorting to name
calling/childish antics.

Whilst I'm generally opposed to private healthcare as being
neccessary (and don't have any myself), I believe their
plans would cut nhs waiting lists significantly- something
that needs to be done before the NHS can ever really be
sorted out. Also on the matter of the NHS, a hell of a lot
of money spend on it is wasted on managers/consultants etc.
and comparatively little is actually seen to make a
difference. This situation is prevelant in a lot of the
civil services and rectifying it could save money, part of
which could be tax breaks, part increased public spending.

I'm not really interested in them spending more on public
services, only in taxes being lowered, but if they can
increase public spending, good for them.

My overriding attitude is we always get a very basic,
inefficient, level of public services, be it transport,
police, education, etc. throwing more money at it (as labour
have done since '97) doesn't appear to yield any
improvements, if anything, things have gotten worse. I
believe the only noticeable difference raising taxes would
have for me would be less money to continue my education (my
tuiton fees are obscene- more than my rent a lot of the
time) and a reduction in what little disposable income I
have. I don't think I'd see an improvement in the NHS,
schools, roads, councils, etc.

oh yeah did you ever move to gloucester in the end?

No, I looked at a few places, but they had 6 months minimum
terms and I don't want to be stuck anywhere as I'm looking
to move back to Cardiff when the right job comes along.
Also, my flatmate (as suddenly as it started), stopped being
an irritating bitch, so there was less pressure to get out
of where I was living at the time.

How has the movement maintained momentum? Normally such
patently-offensive ideas succumb to public outcry, get
cleaned up and repackaged. I find it hard to believe that
it's just "in the deprived areas".

i_x_ten, A question for you:

How can you be in favour of the current trend towards a
dumbing down of academia, as well as a (frankly rather
snobbish) move away from vocational skills/apprentiships
such as plumbing, plastering, etc. Do we really need/can we
really afford, 40% of the population to go to university?
Yes, choice of the individual should come into it, but
should that override cost to the taxpayer and the need for a
certain level of intelligence before entering higher
education?

Godataloss: Very mature debate, I really respect your
eloquently reasoned opinions. *rolls eyes*
You should join the BNP, shouting and giving abuse to people
you disagree with is de rigeur there...

well trust me you're not missing much not living here....

the way i see it with healthcare, okay labour aren't doing a
good job at all, even though they are throwing the money at
it. but to then take half the cost of an operation to
subsidise a private op from nhs funds is going to make
things worse. the problem is half the cost is still a lot,
and is only going to be of benifit if you can afford it. and
that is the underlying problem with the tories; "its choice
if you can afford it" local public transport here is quite
good, but nationally it is a joke. i've had so much grief
with trains, they do my nut in, but then thats privatisation
for you!

They've grown in credibility recently, they were in their
early days viewed as little more than football hooligans
with political aspirations. Now, particularly in poorer
areas they are becoming more popular. Typically working
class people who cannot bring themselves to vote
conservative for historical reasons, but at the same time
feel betrayed by labour and tend towards an independance
from europe often vote BNP through desperation. Naturally,
there are lots of out and out racists amongst their support,
but that is not the case for all of them. They are not all
stupid and their leader is one of the most charismatic and
best in debate of any party I have seen in a long time.

They also have other quite good policies (completely
unrelated to race) like binding referendums, which helps
give people a sense of increased control over politics,
rather than just a say every 4 years.

i dont know if you saw my earllier post, i am reluctantly
voting for labour. a lot of their policies stink and they
are not the party they should be. i want to go back to
education soon eventually going to uni, but i don't know if
i could afford it, with increasing fees. there's always
going to be demand for manual labour, and yeah i think the
govt should be doing more to encourage people to learn
trades.

i would like to ideally see them outed, or at least have
blair removed, but just not by the tories. i wont vote
liberal for other reasons. i think if my local MP was
independant i would still vote for him, even though he's
labour he's very good, and not an arsehole like so many.
