Ah I really don't think he was being serious. He listens to
a lot of new music, like me, which can crush your soul at
times because there's a lot of average stuff. Being a music
nerd is a terrible burden :(((((((

Can we, should we, level this all at Tolstoyed? As far as I
know he's a big fan of "music". I think.. times are
changing, the old guard are meant to keep up developing
whilst newcomers just pick up the existing "sound" without
doing the groundwork. There's problems of perception, of a
lack of, or too much, history. It's tricky times what with
technology and that, give it 5 years, let it settle.

love music, do i need to say more :) i don't know what i'd
do without it..probably not much..

Well its a loose statement. Sure by IDM standards IDM is
getting a bit tiresome. That could be looked at two ways.

1. The person tired of it has been over saturated in the
genre by listening to too much at once, meshing everything
into a samey grey genericness.

2. The genre itself is flooded with weblabels with artists
that effectively replicate their favorite artists. Those
artists far outnumber the ones that produce original
thought, thus making the genre seem bleak.

But then again IDM is just a term. I have heard good
recommendations from Goran which werent IDM. It felt
refreshing.

I think only the big names are capable of keeping interest
in this small tightknit community until these developing
weblabel artists advance their skill.

[/end ramble}

i think most weblabel artists are developing it's skills and
hopefully there will come a big explosion very soon from
those artists..artists are born everyday, every where, so is
music.

in theory, the music is good and the artists are getting
promoted by having their music put out there. promotion is
the whole point of a good netlabel. it shouldn't just be a
vanity imprint - it should be promotion for good artists
trying to get their music heard all over the world.

you are right but at the same time i think wrong. are they
not grabbing onto false dreams and mediocre bullshit on the
off chance little or no cash "signing" can bring the owner
financially incentive rewards? or do you think people do
this out of love for music? a nice sentement at least...

i know why i do it, and it's because i like the
music. yes, it's a mutually-promotional tool (the artists
and label are being promoted), but other than that i'm not
out to "get" anyone. i haven't made a cent off it and never
expected to (although i did pay out of pocket for the
site).

i don't know why others do it, but i've enjoyed a
substantial number of net-releases which have led to me
buying the artists' other works.

thanks for that..i'll be more carefull what i say in the

i can't make music myself..but i also thought everyone knew
me by now and so know that the only band i really dislike
are radiohead :)

Not entirely true. I know i will never be signed. I just
want to have a chance to have people listen to what i make.
I like to hear feedback and when someone gives me positive
feedback then thats all the payment i need.

I know that sounds a tad silly but seriously, the genre of
music that we like and support is a real small one. Smaller
than that is the fanbase.

I plan on saving up money so that when me and anders finish
our next album i can send it to everyone for free. People
seemed to enjoy it last time so i thought we could do it as
a thank you.

I plan on working a typical m-f 9-5 job. I have no hopes or
expectations otherwise
