I think it has to do with how it's presented. someone will say "HEY HERE'S MY NEW ALBUM!" and you'll have a look and it's a bunch of 192k/s mp3s and a jpeg, which to me an album does not make. |

no need to get stroppy, Arf! what I mean is that people have been sharing their music in the form of mp3s for years and years but the trend is now to call a couple of mp3s an "album" or "EP" and calling a site that hosts mp3s a "label". to me a lot of those netlabels are trying to make it sound it more legit, that way. |

there's also a 700 mb divx of their tour you can find on slsk..well worth getting! dm, getting better every time you make a new post :) i've been a bit busier that usual, but appart from that it's going quite nice..also i've seen quite a number of excellent gigs lately and that's kinda most important..well almost :) how are you? |

I'm good, although a bit low on money... no gigs lately, but there's a huge one this weekend; De La Soul, Looptroop, Out Hud, and some more.. i'll mostly be at the hip-hop stuff, though... how did you do on that music review stuff? |

im moneyless to, oh well..it's all good as long as we can afford gigs..i'd love to see de la soul and alsou out hud (they play in the same club i've seen autechre at but it's a bit far..). i was really displeased by that review i made, but apperantly it was good (!?!?!?!) enough to get me in the 2nd round :) |

they're probably the most intense band around..if you know how to use xlt search function seek fot the lightning bolt thread - there were links to several short clips inthere..i've seen that divx film for at least a 100 times..blows my mind away every time i see it. |

i'm not getting "stroppy" - i don't even know what that means! yeah, the point is to call them those things to validate them so that they seem less disposible and more worthwhile to download. otherwise it's just like an mp3.com collection... yo chekc out my choosxnz = less desirable. the point is to make it attractive to download. that has no bearing on the quality of the music, as you already know. |

heheh.. I think you're selling yourself short. I'd bet it was much better than most of the shit I've read before. This one "urban" newspaper/magazine-ish crap thingie 'round here has the worst reviews EVER! They say things like "I listened to her when I was a kid, so this album is good!" and then when they get letters from the readers saying "could you fix your reviews and make decent ones?" they simply answer "fuck off!" I only pick it up 'cause 1: it's free, 2: laughs. |
