they do usually, but I'd really prefer for this one not to. i'm really more interested in why people believe in what they believe as opposed to conducting a survey of the board's beliefs. however since that leaves people open to shit like "that's a bullshit reason to believe in god because blah blah blah insert the aggressive put-down of your choice here" i can understand if people don't want to justify their beliefs. I still hold out hope though. |

Ok then: I believe in God, because I have had profound religious experiences within a religious context (although I wouldn't call myself religious) and I believe in the supernatrual because I have had an experience with a spiritual entity. Now everybody is going to think I am insane (I guess I am in a way) but I can't help what I experience. I happened to me, I was lucky I guess. |

i've never been really religious, and although i don't believe in nor absolutely reject any hypothesis for this kind of things (and don't want to *believe* in any), i'd really hate that "almighty god/watching everything/heaven/hell" one. if you think of it, it's just really fucked up (and in my opinion terribly unfair). i'd rather not exist at all than live in a world with this (actually i think no life after death at all would be the best). and religion has resulted in some good things i guess, but some horrid ones as well... messages of love and tolerance, okay, if you take it the good way; but look at religious fanatics, crusades, etc. religions are not all evil, but they're dangerous. |
