Whenever this EP is mentioned I cannot help but give "mad
propz" to fourth track "Island", one of Balil's crowning
moments. A moment only possibly crowned with another crown
by the longer version "Island Praise", which only someone of
revpersona's calibre would be able to tell you where it was
from.

I still don't really know which member(s) of Black Dog Balil
is/are?

Then I hereby order you to remove the "dog_" from your name
immediately.

Having totally fallen in love with the tunes on this ep when
they were played at some raves I intensely tried to look for
it with no success. Then, a couple of years later, out of
the blue this girl I barely knew gave me the 12" for my
birthday! Talk about making an impression...

"Rosery Pilots" remains one of my alltime favorite tunes to
this day.

I never got this when I had the chance in the mid 90s, but I
really loved Parasight when I got Artificial Intelligence 2.
But I found it on the old slsk some time ago, after someone
namedropped it here, and I've fallen head over heals for it.

Classic stuff that reminds me of the glorious early days of
Internet Dork Music.

on all the IDM i missed out on as a youth..

"island" on this EP = "uland" on trainer cd 2

that's what i just found, that melody sounded so familiar

Similar indeed, but different. Off the top of my head there
were 3 different versions of Island.

Island
Uland
Island Paradise (plaidzebra had given us an mp3 named
"Island Praise", but I think it may have been a mix up. I
can't say for sure, considering the fact the only place to
hear Island Paradise was on some long been deleted cassette
from a magazine publication. Discogs has it listed if you
scroll under Balil.)

I gotta find what's the deal with new Balil material that
was supposedly coming out on a new A.R.T. release.

@dog_belch - Hey d00d just thought I'd pass along some more
info that Mark Pritchard is in the works of making a new
Reload album for Warp. If that's the case, then maybe Warp
is allowing some more AI-esque releases....I can only hope.

Reload! Excellent news, and on Warp too. A Selection of
Short Stories pt. II please! Or indeed anything, I'm not
fussed. I hope Warp aren't ashamed of their A.I. past, such
an English attitude to want to cover up any successes.
Imagine if Warp were an American label, would we ever hear
the end of it, it'd be fucking "Artificial Intelligence vol
439" hitting the stores right now.

I hope A.R.T pull their finger out of their A.R.S.E and
release some lost in the vault classics too. Come on people!
