I also got an idea. How close do they check those things? My dob is 11-19-84, if I could get rid of the first 1, then it would be 1-19-84. white-out?/?

sorry if this sounds dumb, but what kind of ID's can be used in the US to enter to this kind of shows?
driver license? school id maybe?
you can create your own id with some trickery, don't you?
(scaner or digital camera + pc + good printer...)
??

When I was a laddie I had a whole raft of fake IDs. Trick is to use something simple/easy to forge to get something slightly more legit, then use that for something more impressive.
E.g. I had a fake ID card (bought from a magazine) coupled with a "photocopy" (in reality a photoshop) of my passport, as well as a "letter" from my headteacher (I took some school headed notepaper from the office and wrote my own), which I used to get a perfectly legitimate Student Union card, which I then used as my "real" ID. Rather amusingly, I was never ID'd until I actually turned 18, at which point I began shaving before going out (rather than intentionally leaving 2 days beard), didn't bother to wear smart clothes, etc.
One club I'd been going to since I was 16 ID'd me and I thought the bouncer was joking and nearly got into trouble when I laughed and walked past him when he asked for it (I'd been there at least onece a week, almost every week for almost 2 years!)
Am I right in thinking lots of places in america will only take passport/driving licence as ID? If so, only thing I can think would be to fake a foreign driving licence (eg a British/German one- something the bounce probably wouldn't know how it should look) and pretend to be a foreign student on an exchange. You can buy card laminators for about $40, chip in with some mates for one, or use one at work, etc. knock a card up in photoshop, photo quality print it (put 2 sheets back to back), then laminate it.
Also, when out, stay out of trouble; if you get hammered and end up in hospital/custody, you don't want "drinking underage" added to your hassles.

good tricks Ceri! :)
I haven't had to use an id for a music event (or a club), the only time I was asked for it was when I went to play bingo somewhere.

Being Id'd is fun! I was often taller than Bouncers even though I'm not excessively tall. They seemed to think that height equals a lot older than you look. I've been ID's more since I tuned 18 than before. Just like Ceri in fact. An off licence that sold me beer when I was 12 ID'd me for a can of Red Bull when I wsa 18.... Morons.

are you sure that the club actually checks? most places around here that i go to never check unless you want to drink (they give you a wristband then).

Well shane if the club is like any here you might have problems if you actually alter an ID.
The best bet is borrow a friends. Chances are that even if it doesnt look like you they wont give a shit. Most places here just want you to give them a card that has a 21 year olds Bday on it.
Chris might have a point that they might not check unless you try to drink.
When are you going to be 21? Long time from now?
