A friend of mine told me that there are 2 versions of the
Leak 1 of untilted : the unmastered one and the mastered
one, which he just got on soulseek. I think i have the
unmastered one.
Did u know about that ?

Its my understanding that the majority of those who have
Untilted, have the unmastered version.

Assuming thats what will appear on the final disc

Seriously, what's it matter if the leak was unmastered? It
just means you need to buy the full release to hear it at
it's best or if you don't buy music wait till then for the
actual release. The promo I have sounds pretty fucking
fantastic audio wise even if not all the tracks are great.

From LP5 until Gantz Graf, all Autechre releases were
mastered by Frank Arkwright. Draft was mastered by Noel
Summerville. It's also been noted that Darrell Fitton
(Bola/Jello) has mastered Tri Repetae and possibly others.

oops just noticed that.

I didn't think someone like AE would want anyone else
touching their music.

You'd think as 'good' as they are at making it, they would
have it figured out by now.

The first result from a google search for:
"mastered unmastered"
will give you the answers you are looking for.

Lieve Marten. De fransen zeggen altijd als ze iemand succes
wensen: MERDE;
dUS DAT DOE IK BIJ DEZE;
iK DACHT EEN BRIEFJE BIJ TE ZENDEN AAN pAPA MAAR HET IS NIET
GELUKT; iK HAD HET ANDERSOMMOETEN DOEN? DENK IK; Ik heb toen
alles afgesloten en opnieuw gestart en toen ging het weer.
Sterkte jochie, liefs OmaLAZY_TITLE

there I was thinking that people with 10,000+ posts had to
know what they were talking about. I thought wrong, you
make things up like everyone else.

that tell much on your idea of the mastering process...

it is better to leave that job to ears totally unrelated to
your music so that it can be listened to very neutraly, and
more like the way everybody will hear it...
artists are usually too much involved in their work to be
able to judge it in all fairness.
