Syllable#five on 2001-02-28 21:42 [#00000620]

Yeah? Well you would say that Arnie, considering you
starred in the movie.
Oh wait... what if your a different Schwarzeneggar or what
if you're just making the name up.
Please don't slag me off back, I can't take it.

Is not finished.

Please don't!...Please don't!

Is finished.

Don't encourage Aphex fans to waste 1 1/2 hours of their
lives watching this Hollywood shlock ... the creepy subway
bum is the best thing in this shitty film.

Arh, the guy on the train is Victor Varnado, he's a black
albino, he was also in Harmony Korine's Julien
Donkey-Boy
and has a starring role in Eddie Murphy's
upcoming Pluto Nash. You can talk to him at his
official site http://www.bestalbino.com/.

no, it's more like: you used to have to deliberately go on
the internet. buy equipment; learn some tech stuff. then
you'd still have to find this board after that

now any number of cohorts are trying to slip a smartfone in
your back pocket so you'll get hooked on it all day. ugh!
stop trying to make me internet! and so people that usually
would have been quite busy picking peanuts out of poo have
this glowing fondleslab with which to shitpost as they wait
for the tram

i mean, that too -- you used to have to be at home, after
work, or something to internet. not dashing off DUUUB
TUUURRRBOOOO in the supermarket till queue

it's also a bit of a solemn moment when i realize: if i were
14 now, the internet is big enough that i'd have gotten very
thoroughly arrested with the attitude i took to it back
then. but instead it was smaller and much more irrelevant
and i only heard from about half of the us gov agencies
before graduating high school instead of all of 'em

neurons form connections based on reputation or
recommendation, as the saying goes. reputation is like: "for
some unfathomable reason, someone who is verifiably rob
brown of autechre would like an xlt account" and i think the
neurons would agree to that. meanwhile, "i recommend this
person get an account" needs a more detailed approach. a few
would suffice: if three members put someone's email address
in, there you go [but would people fire up their old dupes
and game it?]. or a thread "recommend members" but gosh no
that'd trainwreck

nevermind. it's a bad idea. i'm just trying to suss out how
you might build a good board these days

ahhh, what. WHAT
they have a picture on wikipedia of the exact
14.4 modem
right next to one of the external sportster modems, which i
had next

before that an anchor 2400E that lived up to its name

that was already massively obsolete but once dad saw me
actually manage to connect to something with that 14.4
showed up, and the internet has been doing downhill since

they have fixed some things, though -- like you can't use a
credit card generator to fake out the free AOL trial for a
month
