i love the sounds he used, but the songs don't evolve enough
imo. they're still very good though!

I agree, although the production on Reunion 2 is, at times,
particluarly interesting imo. A scant release in the series
too, Anal 10 makes up for it with the binder and awesome
tracks. This doesn't. I still prefer songs on Anal 1-4 as
well.

Don't you think the drums in reunion 2 enter weirdly?

Love these tracks... awesome vocoder on Reunion. Cilonen
sounds like an old Drexciya track to me. Fantastic tasty
stuff loving it

in his pants], this is a track gor modern ballet
[...trentee creams again :D].

cilonen is cool, easygoing, smokey track.

That adds fuel to my already potentially lethal pyre of a
notion that there is some symmetry to the Analord releases,
where 10 and 5 compliment each other, 9 - 4, 8 - 3, 7 - 2, 6
- 1... you get the idea.

No one seems to have mentioned yet that the grave stone
featured in the label of side a is for

THOMAS STANTON (1616-1677)
and wife
ANNA LORD (1614-1688)

well, I really do not know. I hope it will be more like a
journey from very simple and basic stuff to the most
sophisticated sound aphex twin could create. It could be
some kind of a evolution afx-->aphex twin. It would be more
interesting than "sister" idea, which is sort of
repetative...

offline trentee from Berlin (Germany) on 2005-03-15 15:37 [#01534345]

"an evolution" dammit :P

Maybe 5 x 2 = 10... as in 10 is twice as sexy as 5

offline Exaph from United Kingdom on 2005-03-16 05:35 [#01534943]

i think the evolution is there for all to hear, the symmetry
idea is something else but they could co-exist

inner label of Analord 05.

i dont see any link between 5 and 10 , sorry the tracks
simply do not go through so many shifts as the ones on 10.
The hi-hat addled dancey beats just fade in and out with the
backing beat on 5, wheras on analord10 they shift
entirely+more breakdowns in the songs. 10>>>>>>>>>>5
