my ipod crashed. it reacts to virtually nothing. since you
have no access to the battery i think i have to wait til it
runs out of power which is hours. thats pretty shit! did you
ever have this problem? i have to catch the next bus and i
wont be able to listen to music during the boring busdrive
and the walking thru the city. fuck it!

go to school for one lesson.

too bad.
mine once couldn't open single song, but that's cause i'm
using some buggy wianamp plugin instead of itunes.it was
solved immediately with anapod explorer. so you can't turn
it ON at all?
what's going on when you attach it to the computer?
seek some help on ipodlounge.com, there are the best ipod
users

it happen to me once and that was when a friend just
disconnected the iPod of his dock without shutting it down
properly.

you can always try to reset it..if that won't work you have
to wait intill the battery runs out of power.

the cool thing about ipods is that you have over 2000 songs
with you every time you leave the house and you can listen
to any song you want whenever you want it (out of those
2000+-). however, i have to go to school now w/o music.

i enjoy making up cassettes, making my own little mix albums
and playing them, i dont want to have to choose between 2000
songs, too much choice as im walking along...

besides, i counted and i only have about 1800 songs

i love how poor people diss the ipod, the ipod is the shit.
its the best walkman ever. don't mock it till you try it.
if your happy with your cassette/cd walkman then good for
you. but the ipod is the best portable music deviice ever.
nothing beats it.

Heh... I just got an mp3 that reads cdrw. I laugh at you mp3
player people, cause it takes me 20 seconds to burn a 700
meg mp3 cd. I can carry one of those around with me for the
day, most of the music I need on there (with a backup in my
pocket in case I get bored of the first 100+ songs). New cd
the next day. Don't have to bother with crashes, or paying
$300 for an ipod.

it's true. only poor people dislike apple products. everyone
who can afford them loves them. it's a fact. indisputable.
if you have an apple product, you love it. there's no way
you wouldn't love something you overpaid hundreds of dollars
for.. no matter how much of a piece of shit it is, you're
still going to love it. because if you didn't, then maybe
that would mean something bad, like maybe you were suckered
into paying too much for an inferior product.. and that
would never happen. not to you. you're too smart for that.

are you serious here dude?

most people choose a portable mp3 player because it is
portable...
for me no ponderous cdrw/mp3-player

btw, do you have any idea how fast data goes through a
firewire cable?

I'm pretty relaxed. I don't need to worry about 15 extra
seconds if I am taking my time to get out the door.

And your talking about paying $250 extra for something that
is about 1 inch smaller than a cd-mp3 player... I would
rather spend the $250 on a synth or guitar or soundcard or
something, or pocketing it for application to cigarettes and
booze in the future.

Did you really use the term ponderous when describing the
lack of portability of a cd player? I thought they were
pretty damn portable... not cell-phone sized or anything,
but my pockets would be too full anyway for another
cellphone...

I guess I could fit a coke beside it in my jacket pocket...
or something like that... maybe I could fit it in my shirt
pocket with a pocket protector around it, just in case the
battery leaked.

Jeez. Whenever I think about small electronics, I always
worry about spilling coke on it.

are you talking about portable mp3 players in general or
just the iPod?

I always had a discman which I was very satisfied with, but
when it was summer it was a problem most of the time to
carry it with me...thats why I choose a portable mp3 player

"something that is about 1 inch smaller than a cd-mp3
player "
make it 2 if it's about the iPod and even 3 if
it's about an usb-stick mp3 player

i bought my lady an ipod mini for christmas. it's cool. i
like it. it only holds 4gigs but really that's been enough
so far. it's easy enough to swap out albums i'm we're not
listening to and replace them with new stuff.

but i still feel like i got ripped off buying it. it cost
$250 or so. for the same price i could have bought a
non-apple mp3 player that would hold almost 10 times as much
music.

i'm not really sure what you are paying for when you buy an
ipod. i guess it's easy to use. and its cute. but it's not
(obviously) crash proof. and every fucking accessory costs
so much money. my wife bought an arm band for it. it's
basically a strip of elastic with some velcro on it and it
cost fucking $30!

in summary, we love our ipod mini. but it and all of it's
accessoies cost WAAAAY too much for what you get!

the ipod is not a very robust player. it seems pretty
tempermental at times and far too prone to screw up, lock
up, not connect etc. yes it is a nice box, but its guts are
moody and rotten. i just had to reformat mine after not
being able to get it to mount, or when it did it crashed my
pc all the time. I have a 3g 30 gig pod.

My 3g 20gig seems a lot more reliable than my brother's 4g
20gig. He had one of these lock-ups a few weeks back and had
to wait for the battery to run out as well... seems to be
okay now though.

Ipods are like ugly children. No mater what problems and
short comings they exhibit their owners just rave about how
wonderful they are. I think it is a function of the
ass-raping your wallet takes at the hands of each of them.

Saying that the Ipod is anything but the greatest thing
since wide codoms is akin to admitting that you are a
jackoff that has been bamboozled by Apple and all the hype.
