I just finished listening to your mix, and you did well. The
Bertine/Side Brok transition was completely by the book :)

I did find some stuff to check out in this mix too. Keiichi
Suzuki was great. All in all it was a mix filled with
enjoyable tracks, which seem to be the general subtheme of
these mixes. Every single one has been a joy to listen to.
You guys have brilliant taste in music, and I guess that's
why you are here.

great! I've shown signs of improving! hahaha! thanks, man!

and even though I haven't heard any of the mixes that were
sent on that yousendit stuff (which means I've only heard
yours, oyvintos and r40fs) I agree with you that it has been
enjoyable

oyvinto's mix is ace too, although I'm not too keen on maja,
but it contrasted well against Deathprod.

I'm in a void now, seeing as there are no more best of's to
listen to, so please....more stuff coming soon, people?

i just finished listening to your set for the second
time..fantastic music, appart from some songs at the end but
the first 55 minuts (until that ministry song) are
fantastic!! i used to like ministry a lot, but lately they
went a bit to um, weird rock or something..not quite up to
my taste :)

but that first cobain song is fantastic..i stopped listening
to with the lights out after a while but i think i'll start
listening to it a bit more again..i didn't know smoke &
smoke, secret chiefs 3, sloth and converge so far but i'll
check out their full albums..sounds real interesting..i hope
you post a link to your new mix when you make one..that 1st
part with sort of slower songs is fantastic..even that
vsnares song fits in nice eventhough im not a big fan
anymore :)

thanks a lot! :D

the new ministry album - i'll be honest with you, it IS
weird. and at first, i really wasn't too into it. but it
is way better than "animositisomina" which i hated utterly.
it definitely took me a few listens to get into their new
album, but now i do enjoy it a lot. i saw them play their
new material live and it was just incredible (hearing the
songs live usually makes you enjoy the record more, i
think). but if you don't like it, that's cool. i could
definitely see why someone wouldn't like ministry. as i
said, i totally hated animositi...

and do check out those bands you mentioned - those albums
are really good! if i make another mix any time soon you'll
be the first to know... :)

oyvinto, this was a really nice mix overall. i especially
enjoyed the first half with all the jazzy stuff. that hank
williams noisy cut up thing was pretty wild - which track is
that? thanks for the mix!

You need to check the Secret Chiefs 3 album asap, the first
songs on that is pure arab rock bliss that'll fit nicely
after Gomidas band :)

Everytime I listen to it I get amazed of how unpredictable
it is. It changes all the time, yet keeps things very
coherent. It is an excellent musical find.

I'm sharing a mix on slsk. It's not just stuff from 2004 cos
I can't be bothered to work out when I got things or when
they were released, but it was made in 2004 :)

No-one will download it I bet, and even if they do no-one
will like it. But there we go anyway.

same for me! i loved in his hands live version and always
thought "it's a fucking shame they didn't record that in the
studio"

so it came as a real suprise when i heard the studio version
on with the lights out. i was totally not expecting it.

but i still like the rawer live version better though.

what was missing on with the lights out is the other more
acoustic version of sappy. i like it much better.

yeah, the problem with the box set is that they chose tracks
in terms of sound quality and not always performance. i
have better performances of several of the rare tracks, but
they're not as good sound quality. but for what it is meant
to be, the box set is a success.

tolstoyeds mix was real nice.

ra0f got me to listen to real rock, which i normally don't
listen to, but it was cool. and i actually listened to that
lucidikah & awt track (which rocks) earlier today, as i
downloaded the planetarium releases. same goes to vlari
then.

loved vlari, alberto and drunken mastahs mixes too. all over
it was all great music.

Just wanted to say that this is a wonderful thread. I've
downloaded each mix. Been listening to these at work. It's
wonderful to find new artists in these mixes. Big up to
Tolstoyed and Vlari for theyr mixes. Havent listened to the
others more than once so cant really say. I wish I would
have time to do one =(

ps. Tolstoyed, does that one track have PJ Harvey on it?

yeah, i'd probably dig it more if i'd seen them live, i keep
buying their records coz i love them, psalm 69 remains one
of my fav records, i was into that way before i got into idm
stuff..but filth pig and animositisomina just didn't sound
good to me, they're way too similar sounding, there are some
nice songs, sure, but overall not that good, i'll give them
a few more listens though..i didn't even buy houses of the
mole - i downloaded it though :) but haven't given it more
than 1 listen sadly..i'll go see them if they ever some
around.

vlari, haha, i should have put that gomidas song inthere,
although there were not enough good songs on that album for
it to come in my top 25 :) i'll check out that band for sure
though!

pf, no pj harvey inthere, although i was thinking of putting
something from 'uh huh her' in the mix at first..not sure
what song you meant, perhaps the elysian field's one? you
should get their album 'dreams that breathe your name'
because the whole thing is gorgeous (r40f picked their song
as well btw).

A bit mental indeed :)

I really liked the mix you did with Depth Charge: Sex Sluts
& Heaven, but I'm wondering about the ambient piece you put
over it. Details please?

I recognized many tracks, and most are personal favourites,
but it never got boring cause you had tracks that were
unknown to me, and thus made it very exciting indeed.

Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure that ambient track is "Isolation (Part 1)"
by Pulusha. Well it's definitely in there but whether that's
the one mixed with the Depth Charge I can't recall. I don't
have the tracklisting handy :)

i think it was certainly a well-made mix. what's mental
about it? sounded pretty normal to me. then again, i've
been told i listen to extremely weird music. hard to say
which tracks i liked the best - they all kind of blend
together in my mind. i remember i really liked how the
electronic drums went with that alternative-sounding song
sung by a woman. anyway, thanks for sharing!

I just listened to your mix(tape) Tolstoyed and it was very
nice!

I liked the beginning very much, when the guitar-ish part
falls in I turned down the volume...untill the voice drops
in at about 13:30 now thats lovely!! :)
I love the vocal samples at around 23:00, nice put!
the 'sound section' at 31:45 is entertaining/funny and
floats very nice into the Jazzy part which has a great
atmosphere!

I enjoyed your mix very much
