for me it's been Aesop Rock
I got "Float" a couple of weeks ago in addition to my burned "Bazooka Tooth" that i've had for over a year but didn't appriciate until about december. Two days I picked up the "Fast Cars, Danger, Fire, and Knives" EP which is okay but comes with a BOOK!
oh yeah and i got "Labor Days" yesterday. Can't get enough of it.

For a while it was Popol Vuh, but now it seems to be north african music, like from the Malinké and Baoulé. Also, Ondekoza, Sam Cooke, and Peter Gabriel.
