yes, for all you cinema-buffs out there - this might be interesting.
Samuel Beckett, one of the greatest playwrights ever, wrote one film-scenario in his career, a silent film about a man who is being watched.
the film, called "Film" was made in 1965 and starred a then 70-year-old Buster Keaton.
I have NEVER been able to find this ANYWHERE and now it has popped up as a quicktime movie, available for download from here.
the quality of the QT movie isn't great, but still great to be able to see this at last.

for an obsessive-compulsive, this guy has too many pets. ;)
it's interesting. i know it's supposed to be repetative, but i didn't like that aspect of it. it got pretty old the fourth time the cat entered. i thought the shots looked fantastic - the animals, the eyes, etc. i loved the world they were in... the decrepit landscape was great. the ending was cool.
thanks for the link!

An early love of Beckett, his rigorous economy of words, robbed me of the enjoyment of any subsequent artist that relied on indulgence, overstating the case, bloated prog-rock mannerisms.. this man was a master, let every single word, every breath matter...

Excellent, I'd never seen it before... very disturbing in that incomprable Beckett style. Great to see something visual that he was directly involved in putting together... I don't know what's so unsettling about Buster's hat, but I'm feeling a bit fragile after yesterday's excesses and it freaked me out no end.

people in north america should keep an eye out for this one, as i'm pretty sure it is touring about presently... or, well at least i know for certain that it is coming to Edmonton as part of a mini irish film festival next week... definitely looking forward to seeing it.
