you have Spalding Gray in your avatar.

I love you.

almost as much as I love Spalding Gray's monologues.

no but really.

Spalding Gray was a writer and performer. he wrote
monologues and would read them onstage. a few were filmed.

very, very funny. a great storyteller.

he suffered from depressions a lot and was suicidal at
times.

he went missing in january last year, his body was found two
months later in East River - suicide.

"I remember standing in that second-story window and looking
down, wondering if I really had the courage to jump and if I
did would it kill me from such a small height. I think I
figured I'd just break a leg or something and end up in a
cast for the rest of the summer, and that would be much
better than dying because of all the attention I'd get. But
then I also realized that Mom wouldn't be able to give me
any attention, because she was cracking up and needed all of
it for herself."

I remember reading a small message in a Dutch newspaper
about how he went missing, a year ago.

I was genuinely shocked at the time.

he did a couple of excerpts from various monologs, followed
by a 15 or 20 minute question and answer session with the
audience.

it was awesome.

His monologue where he is learning to ski, and he can't turn
right, and he smokes a joint with that girl on the ski lift
and then learns of to ski, is totally triumphant.. he tells
the story in a way that makes me feel like I just
learned how to ski.

I love how Steven Soderbergh filmed "gray's anatomy".

and the whole part about when he goes to visit this strange
little man that supposedly would heal his eye by changing
his eating patterns. how he describes the house. it's
wondrous.

It's A Slippery Slope and, Monster In A Box are 2 CDs he's
released. Bother are phenomenal, but very rare and very
expensive.

I did find a rip of the film made of "Monster in a box"
about half a year ago on the aforementioned delirium-vault.

I was so happy when I had downloaded that one, I don't think
it was even released on video, let alone dvd.
