Down With the Sickness
"DataDada is an application that will turn the stored data
on your hard drive into a movie complete with sound, image,
and subtitles. Essentially, it reads all the data on the
disk (or, optionally, only specific directories), and writes
the data to your computer's sound card and video display.
Additionally, it will display the name of the file being
read as a human-understandable subtitle."
Dope, eh?
Came upon it while looking @

unless they actually do some sort of good manipulation of
the data before playing it, its just going to be random
garbage
in fact, you'd probably achieve precisely the same results
with just a random bitstream

I thought it was pretty poor. If I wanted images like that I
would defrag my hard-drive, while listening to my photoshop
files in audition.

Honestly, if you want to hear good raw data, do that. You
can get some amazing glitch from it.

I used to cat things to /dev/dsp and get interesting sounds.
I think I recall PDFs sounded cool.

I'd love to see a version of this that took a video you
already had and manipulated it randomly using hrad drive
data. Would be a lot better as you'd have something
"watchable". It could distort etc...
