Dunno monoid? I've never gotten into one of your threads.
They seem too perfectly lame to be real. Like a sitcom
version of lame. Like stereotypical and altogether bland.
Man, if you ARE for real, than you're like, 2xlamer than
maximum lameness (which is a mind-boggling implication when
you think about it!). That must suck.

don't listen to mappa monoid, not only is he unbearably
unintelligent, he's also quite arrogant.
to ice the cake you have the asshole attitude and the
lonelliess, which alltogether makes for an undesirable
person, or should i say, vermin, which should be ignored, or
better yet, stepped on, both to end his own misery but also
to ease it up for others unfortunate enough to cross paths
with him.

anyway on topic:
maybe you should see a psychiatrist and get some ssri's(anti
depressants), and maybe try to do something, like go to the
gym, where you can meet people.
remember that you only have one life, and one life is very
precious, so you should try to not waste it.

Being happy is a choice. I know kids who come from rich
families who say they are clinically depressed. I have no
sympathy for them because they cannot choose to be happy and
appreciate their wealth. It just isn't enough. They are
greedy.

You are alive. You can practice any religion that you want
to. Nobody's trying to kill you. You have a roof over your
head. You have food. What are you going to settle for?

"A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body,
mood, and thoughts. It affects the way a person eats and
sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one
thinks about things. A depressive disorder is not the same
as a passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal
weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away.
People with a depressive illness cannot merely "pull
themselves together" and get better. Without treatment,
symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Appropriate
treatment, however, can help most people who suffer from
depression."

cygnus and weatheredstoner: i don't know what monoid's deal
is - i won't speak about him. but i do personally know
people with these problems and your comments are
frustratingly ignorant. both depression and schizophrenia
are extremely serious mental illnesses. it's not something
to take lightly if someone you know suffers from these
things. it's as life-or-death to them as a car crash would
be to you. so i'm not saying to feel sorry for people, i'm
just saying try and be a little tolerant. if somebody has
cancer, it isn't right to laugh at them for it. the simple
fact is that they cannot help it. it's possible that the
people you encounter with these problems are misdiagnosed or
aren't able to seek professional help.

supposed to tolerate them bitching about how they never

I dont know exactly whats up with this either (could just be

can be fixed with a backhand full of love and some fresh

If it's any consolation I read your sad post to the funky
beats of michael jackson's thriller.

AND THOUGH YOU FIGHT TO STAY ALIVE
YOUR BODY STARTS TO SHIVER
FOR NO MERE MORTAL CAN RESIST
THE EVIL.. OF.. THE THRILLER

I think it's fucking sad and don't think you're making stuff
up for amusement. It's just the... fucking bizarre state of
humanity. What the fuck are we doing to ourselves? But just
remember that humans are a bunch of stupid monkeys with
stick-outy monkey ears. Just look at that picture
brokephones posted. The rest of the world is ill like you so
you're not missing anything good by avoiding it which I do
also. I sort of love life currently in a strange ill way.

again, i'm not trying to defend monoid... i'm not sure i
even believe him at all. either way, he must realize by now
that by posting this shit he's setting himself up for this
sort of abuse.

but if it's someone you personally know or somebody that you
care about, it wouldn't be right not to at least understand
where they're coming from. i guess i was mostly responding
to what cygnus said. there is a huge difference between the
goth teenage angst and actual depression. as someone who
has friends who suffer from these things, i just feel bad
because it's hard for some people to understand these
disorders and take them seriously.

I understand depression and I take it very seriously. I was
a social worker for 2 years. In the institution I worked for
(which I won't name), the people who wanted to help
themselves, helped themselves. No matter how depressed, no
matter how angry or upset they are with a family member,
spouse, or child, and no matter how fat or disabled they
are, if they can make the simple yes decision to act
positively in a life-course changing situation, then they
are fine. People who refuse to do that, I'm convinced, are
fond of pain.

well, i will admit that you probably have met and thoroughly
dealt with a lot more of them than i have. but i still
disagree with what you say because it goes against every
legitimate definition that i've read about it as well as
what i've learned from dealing with friends with such
problems... i haven't met the people you've described.

and really, i'm not trying to stand on a soapbox here...
everyone should draw their own conclusions i guess. i'll
leave it at that.

it's sad how psychological illness has reached the point of
of being a cliche
you never would have thought that people talking about their
most personal problems would be met with "oh shut up, 'i'm
schizophrenic' is so 2001"
and yet, psychopharmaceutical corporations in the states
would like these sorts of mindfuck fads to occur every once
in a while so they can push more drugs
it's really quite a shame

poor monoid. dont listen to the people here who are trying
to upset you, there are hundreds of members on this board
with nothing in common other than the fact that they have
heard of the aphex twin - not everyone here wants to be
friends with you, in fact id guess most people here only
come to the board for its humour/music info, and dont really
care about each others feelings. if someone on the board
posted that they broke their leg i would be upset, but i
wouldnt care as much as i would if it was someone ive known
for years in the outside world who broke a leg.

do something about your health first. when you feel unwell
nothing will make you wonderfully happy until you are well
again.

monoid seriously, i think some anti depressants could do
wonders for you... im on them myself and it gave me that
little boost i needed.
but as qrter said, you have made countless threads, where
people offer good advice, over and over, yet you seem
uncapable to do anything about it. what are we supposed to
do?

i really want you to have a better life and feel better and
enjoy it, i really do, but you gotta get off your ass and do
something about it.
the first step would be going to a psychiatrist.
trust me just do it.
tell him everything.
psychiatrists have tons of help nets for people like you,
for example i was offered to join a teen group, where people
with mental problems all go out and eat pizza, and bowling,
for example.

it's not too late to meet friends, it's not too late to be
happy, it's never too late to do something about it.
get your ass to a psychiatrist.. im begging you.

Stop smoking. Start lifting weights and walking a few
miles a day to start. Move to Brooklyn and go to all of the
great shows that hit NY. Get out of your fucking house and
be around people your age at concerts. I too thought my life
was done at the age of 24. It was in a way - THAT life I was
living at the time. I killed myself. I killed that person
who was fat and depressed and suicidal and replaced him
through EFFORT on my part. I had to work for it, but you
