Ok. So the only date they have for canada is toronto.

I guess they love the shit brown and diahrea grey colors of
that city.

They should come to vancouver.

Hey AMinal and elusive, I'll be there at the Opera House
with my hot fiance and my little Indian friend.

If you wanna hook up at the concert (or before/afterward)
you can send me a message at multivitaminman@yahoo.com, or
reach me on my cell at (905) 518-7687. I'd love to meet you
guys - I've never met anyone in person who knows Autechre
(or any IDM for that matter).

yeap. i just got mine. and i bet i won't know or recognize
any one of you guys :)

but if you see me there at the opera house, be sure to buy
me a beer cuz it's going to be my bday on the 12th! :D

offline catharsis from Toronto (Canada) on 2005-02-11 20:33 [#01496141]

You know the number (905) 518-7687. I'll buy you a beer
jenf. E-mail me at multivitaminman@yahoo.com and let me
know.

Has anybody seen or heard of what/how Autechre sound live?
Do they play tracks off their albums, or do I expect to hear
a lot of frazzled machine wankery?

My two guests that I'm bringing along listen to music such
as Air, Radiohead, Stereolab, and Thievery Corp, although
they're pretty open minded. I hope they play at least a few
songs with a standard repetetive rhythm just so I don't get
accused of bringing them to some place too foreign for their
musical tastes.

offline jenf from Toronto (Canada) on 2005-02-11 22:05 [#01496175]

well, i'll be a short asian girl (about 5') w/ glasses. i'll
be by the closest seating area (i heard they renovated opera
house a while back so im not sure what it looks like now -
last time i was there was back in 94-95). when it gets
closer to the date, i'll let you know what im wearing so you
guys can come up and say hi :)

by the way, off-topic but did autechre ever do some small
release (or non-release) of 5 tracks under some album named
'courtesy schematic'?
they are named piste 1, piste 2, etc.. which i assume are
track 1, track 2, etc... or is that something someone else
did? sounds like some weird mix of their tracks and some new
stuff..

offline 05 from vita contemplativa on 2005-02-11 22:19 [#01496178]
Points: 286 Status: Lurker

yes you're right, "piste" means track in french...
but it's no autechre release, it's a label compilation
(schematic), i downloaded that one too with slsk ^_^...

it's actually this record:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004RJKK/qid=11081
85513/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/002-0117271-2187210

...i think

offline 05 from vita contemplativa on 2005-02-11 22:22 [#01496179]
Points: 286 Status: Lurker

oops, ok you wrote 5 tracks...
but i'm quite sure that at least the piste no.1 is the same
track
as track 1 on the comp. (richard devine)...

offline jenf from Toronto (Canada) on 2005-02-11 22:31 [#01496181]
Points: 1062 Status: Lurker

ah yes. just compared the two tracks and they appear to be
identical :)
do you have all the tracks or just 5 also? hmm.. interesting
collection nonetheless.. well, not super great but quirky at
least.. i'll have to listen to them a few more times

offline 05 from vita contemplativa on 2005-02-11 22:58 [#01496182]
Points: 286 Status: Lurker

i downloaded that stuff quite some while ago (1 1/2 years or
sumpn) and after i realised it wasnt drew i just burned
(since i also thought it wasnt too bad) and forgot about it
... don't remember how much tracks i had exactly downloaded
by then... i think less
than 5 (which is a good number, tho)...
i learned about the fake-tracks origin merely by accident
just some months ago when searching for devine stuff on the
net blah...
