I am not in a good economic moment, thats why my premium
membership will expire and I wont renew it

I hope to renew it when I am in a better situation in a few
months

so I wonder if I will have to do all my recordbag again that
time

anyway I hope to donate as soon as I can, but now I wont, I
have other priorities

Good question although my record bag only had like 3 or 4
albums

Sell your pink cap on eBay. The proceedings will certainly
give 10+ years of recordbag/pictureposting/boldness-pleasure

i must say, i don't really see the point of this "recordbag"
thing, the way it's done (i.e. having to go and select
manually in the discography every release you want to put in
it, and thus only being able to have items listed in the xlt
discography of course)...

not to mention there are several versions of every album so
you'd have to check every album you have to see what edition
it is..that would take me (i don't have them sorted) way too
long, so i don't even bother :)

the procedure of adding records will be changed with the
launch of the new site.... some new features will be
introduced related to this as well; buy/sell/trade records
for example... creating printerfriendly listings....

that's the point... you can select the EXACT revisions of
the records you own.

- "what car do you have?"
- "it's a golf"
- "ok"
- "the gti version"
- "ah cool!!!"

obviously that info is needed if you're gonna buy/sell

but hey, the system can't satisfy everyone! there are always
complainers :)

that rcord bag isnt huge...did you select only the (idm)
records you think people on here would like, and leave off
the crap? or are you the sort of person that only ever buys
the best of the best?

You know, a neat option for this site would be giving users
the capacity to submit albums for the discography, so its
not just up to the moderators. They got a lot of good stuff
listed, but there are a bunch of albums I have tried to get
info on and nothing was listed. The people could submit it
in a field similar to this and then a mod could look over
it, and ok it. If there is a mistake, somebody else will
prolly mention it. Then the mods could research, and it
would be corrected. I am sure there are other people out
there willing to contribute. I know I would do a bit every
week or so.

thats what I have... out of what there is in the
discography

lots of orbital, underworld, muziq, snares, quinoline yellow
and others is missing here, but only cos it is not in
discography

but out of what it is there in discography, thats all I
have... nothing else nothing more

I would love to contribute with orbital and underworld

(I name these as I saw they are in the list of discography
and I have quite a lot from them)

oh sorry i wasnt sure how the system worked. so you can only
put in releases that are in the xlt discog, well thats gotta
suck....about 75% of the records i own arent in the discog.

"about 75% of the records i own arent in the discog"

meaning 25% of your collections is in the discogs?
that's kinda sad really..

I think this discog should focus on quality rather than
quantity, like having a complete listing of labels
(warp/skam/rephlex/planet-mu) and/or big-name idm-ers. Go
make an account at discogs.com if you want those others.

I will never have all my records listed here, as my
collection is not restricted to excellent electronic music.
But it would be nice to have all my warp-stuff ticked.

Thats a bad idea, cause if you focus on quality, then its
going to be quality according to one or two people. What you
will find is, a heap of stuff for drill n bass, and no
listings for glitch. I don't like drill n bass. I like
glitch. Its kind of annoying when you can browse every
single release by cylob right down to the rare 10 pressing
pieces of crap he strategically placed under some lucky
peoples shoes, and the only richard devine you can find is
lipswitch.

I mean, come on. Cylob is a sad little mirror of afx,
lacking almost any if not all of the style or talent.
Richard devine is a genius.

its impossible to make a discography with such an amount of
artists... I think its easier to complete, really complete
to the limit the discography if it consists in few artists

this project is huge... lets see how it evolves

Quality as in quality of information or the discography. I'm
not talking about restrictions about the quality of music,
which would be silly to even consider, since the tastes on
the board are too diverse and a single album is near
impossible to even agree upon (read any of the comments of a
release)

we're gonna complete the following label's catalogues:

warp records
rephlex records
skam records
mu-ziq records

next step is to add the following artist's discographies:
aphex
autechre
passarani
lfo
u-ziq
boc
jega
bola
squarepusher
john callaghan
alder&elius
plaid
the black dog
brothomstates

i think i have posted this before, like 5 times...
remember: xltronic is the follow-up to
autechre.nu/aphextwin.nu. i decided to make a more general
approach to the scene, but still focusing on a few
"featured" arists, combined with a few "featured" labels,
later on mixed with even more artists (basically all other
artists located on those labels). the original idea was to
have a website covering the music I love... and i will stick
to that idea. or at least, that's a start.

i find it quite annoying when ppl are whining about the lack
of a "certain" artist in the discog.

however, i'm currently looking at some new paths to get the
discography up and running with even more info.

have patience until then.

using other words:

don't confuse this site with
discogs.com/amazon.com/watmm.com

tolstoyed- why is it sad?

phoby- i hope you include boc's album 'a few old tunes vol
2' because its not listed in discogs.com and i cant find
info anywhere, and i have no idea what vol 1 is like, if
such a record exists.
