My Start Menu is XP is fucked. Last time this happened I
restarted to see if that would fix it and I couldn't get
past "Windows is starting" and i had to reinstall
Windows. Fucking hassle basically. I thought before that
this was due to uninstalling the graphics drivers to do an
upgrade. However this time it's happened and I wasn't
uninstalling graphics drivers. In face, I've done nothing
like that since reinstalling windows. When I click All
Programs, nothing happends. I double click and it opens as a
folder. I've tried changing to Classic Start Menu but that
makes the problem worse as I can't even get a menu up then.
I've tried changing to small icons and back again. I don't
want to restart though and find that I need to reinstall
windows. If that's the case then I've got a severe bug in my
system. The picture below is an approximation of what my
menu looks like. I'm using Win2K here but basically it's
that barring a couple of names of things.

Any help or pointers would be great. The only thing I've
found on Microsoft.com relates to Windows ME and they didn't
have a proper solution there.

I think i'm going mad.

If you have the disc you used for that installation, try
inserting it and running "sfc /scannow"

Oh! That could be because of SP2, I guess, but I'm not sure.
You'll have to just skip those files.

Hahahaha!

I'm seriously considering just getting Linux installed
properly. I really am. This is the second time this has
happened. I'm pissed now. I even rang Microsoft Technical
Supprt and they said:

"Ah right, I only deal with SP2. The normal Tech Support is
closed!

I'm running SP2

"OK, well what exactly happens?"

I explain it all to him

"Yeah, you've got a problem there."

No shit!

"Best to call back tomorrow for proper Tech Supprt."

Gee thanks bitch.
