It would be cool if we could get a "big" artist/band like
lets say Aphex Twin or Autechre to do a high quality live
streamed consert for us here at xlt. We would raise money
for the cause of course.
I remember Colony mike and friends played some records in a
live video stream and i remember i found it to be quite
enjoyable to watch even tho not much was hapening visualy
but guys playing records and chilling in a room . He took
time to post here in between tracks and it was a nice
interactive feel to it.
We could have the artists do some q&a or something at the
board and only people who have helped pay the fee for this
to take place get to chatt. It would be like the these
"clinics" that famous highly skilled master mucisians hold
at music shops for other aspiring musicians where they play
some stuff and then answer some questions inbetween . I went
to such a event once and it was very cool . It was a famous
swedish drummer that had specialized in DnB style.
Also members who have payed get a very exlusive highquality
recording /bootleg of the show with tracklist and xlt album
art and pictures of the event in their mailbox. Others have
to settle for the soulseek version.
This would generate a huge buzz over the internet , bigger
then the Autechre remix contest , maybe it would be
historical even . People would swarm to xltronic like flies
and we the oldtime members would control them all
muahahaha!!

HAHA!! im silly. This would be impossible to arrange.

Still tho , isnt it nice to dream away sometimes.
Post some thoughts (or pics of nice asses).

Afterwards we could all say to each other "remember when we
saw Aphex Twin together" "yeah what a great time we had" .

I think it would be a really good idea. Dont know how it
would work and what would the proceeds go to?

Well the artists wants cash and some extra equipment is
needed like a (or multiple) really good camera. Also maybe
plane tickets depending on where the event takes place.
And lots of other stuff... making the cds etc..

why not broadcast it from their homes, and then give all the
money to tsunami victims.

It's a great idea, and one that could be really well
exploited by "electronic" artists such as the ones we know
and love. Phobia, pull all those strings and get an online
live XLT festival going.

If it where to be really professional it would take place in
a recording studio. The ultimate experience would be the
artists own studious. Imagine beeing inside Richard D's
vault.
Someone with balls would post "zoom in on some of your
equipment " and he would show us some of the tweakbent
synths and samplers used for RDJ album.

Or it would be a simple thing with a laptop and a basic
webcamera . No fancy bootleg or q&a.

that's a cool idea actually. I bet Richard Devine would do
it. he's a techy kind of guy who likes to show and tell
about his equipment.

Yeah you have a point there , he would love to do something
"before its time" like this. And i wouldn't mind asking
some questions to him. Like for example how the hell many
audio channels does a typical Devine track have when being
made ? How many "Chunks" of audio ?

First step is to convince them that we are able to pull it
off.
I can't see why any "IDM" artist wouldn't want to do
something groundbreaking and give back something to the
REAL fans at the same time. The ones that pay 40 for a 2
track EP with fancy binder and loving it.

If phobia should arrange so that only paying concert viewers
could participate in the q&a he could cooperate with
titsworth . Titsworth could get hold of a web camera for one
of his radio shows and we could do some beta testing with a
few selected members.

Yeah dog belch mentioned the words "XLT festival"
We could have like 3 artists per night or something
streaming from all over the world . I know some people here
have previous live experience.
Our own online Woodstock , but of course we would call it
"Webstock" haha! or "Woodtronic".

Keep brainstorming people . Who knows , something might come
out of it =)
