I am making a dub compilation to play at work and i want to
use an old dub track by Primal Scream wich i don't know the
name of . I have it on a cassette somwhere at my parents
house i think cause i recorded it from a radio show.
It is not your usual mellow dub .
The track is very loud with very loud dub echoes that sounds
almost like hellicopters and the bassline is not the usual
sub but a squekier synth thing . Somwhere in the track there
is a timestreched or heavily reverbed voice saying
"...sellasie..jah...." something and towards the end or in
the middle a big fat ass kick drum kicks in to bring extra
drive , energy and weight to the groove. Some of the noises
are heavily distorted.
I don't know if this is a remix of a more chilled out dub or
if my decription is totaly accurate at all cause its been a
couple of years , all i know it is by the otherwise crappy
band Primal Scream and that it is the dogs bollocks!
I have no knowledge of Primal Screams releases in the past
and present.

Help.

It's "Living Dub" off the remix album Echo Dek, done by
Adrian Sherwood.

Good clues!

Had to: think, find the cd, scan the track until I found the
sample, write my post & hit reply.

6 minutes eh? Not bad :D

Yeah he kinda dissapeared when the avatar limit went down to
12kb haha!
Seriously , this place has been on a low for a time with a
lot of old school heroes dissapearing more and more and a
lot of bullshit topics (bad moderation at times) so even i
started comming less but recently this place has had an
upswing . And im not talking analord , but the last 3 months
or soo (see my old topic about it ). This is a great place to
hang around again. I wish oldtimers like Jand and Titsworth
would come back and see it for themselfs .Hell! even that
crackhead REFLEX .

I will tell Raimons to stop by more often.

I just found that the track might also be "Last Train Wise
Blood" because that sellasie sample was used there too.

Yeah i did some soulseeking and "Living Dub" was not the
track im after but cheers anyways, this was really great. Im
sad i have missed out on a really great album all these
years (97!) .

My hopes are up for Wise Blood....

Wise blood and last train are separate tracks, but i think
the one you're looking for is wise blood, yeah. Last train
is equally ace though, it's a remix of "trainspotting" from
vanishing point, which is another cracking track. And used
in the film of the same name.

You are, offcourse, corect. The titles were so close on the
back-cover that I read it as one title. The album is tops
for those spaced out dub moments. It's def. going to my iPod
now... Thanks for reminding me of the record, Sido, I
haven't listened to it in a while.
